Observations on the basic (G′/G)-expansion method for finding solutions to nonlinear evolution equations

open access: yes, 2010
The extended tanh-function expansion method for finding solutions to nonlinear evolution equations delivers solutions in a straightforward manner and in a neat and helpful form.

Epigenetic blind spots – the role of DNA methylation dynamics in stem cell‐based models of embryogenesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

New Wave Solutions for the Two-Mode Caudrey–Dodd–Gibbon Equation

open access: yesAxioms, 2023
In this paper, we present new dynamical properties of the two-mode Caudrey–Dodd–Gibbon (TMCDG) equation. This equation describes the propagation of dual waves in the same direction with different phase velocities, dispersion parameters, and nonlinearity.

Solution verification of WECs: comparison of methods to estimate numerical uncertainties in the OES wave energy modelling task [PDF]

open access: yes, 2023
High-fidelity models become more and more used in the wave energy sector. They offer a fully nonlinear simulation tool that in theory should encompass all linear and nonlinear forces acting on a wave energy converter (WEC).

Hijacking emergency granulopoiesis: Neutrophil ontogeny and reprogramming in cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Neutrophils are highly plastic innate immune cells; their functions in cancer extend beyond the tumour microenvironment. This Review summarises current understanding of neutrophil maturation and heterogeneity and highlights tumour‐induced granulopoiesis as a systemic programme that expands immature, immunosuppressive neutrophils via tumour‐derived ...

Existence and stability of multiple spot solutions for the Gray-Scott model in R^2$

open access: yes, 2003
Existence and Stability of Multiple Spot Solutions for the Gray-Scott Model in $R^2$ In this paper, we rigorously prove the existence and stability of multiple spot patterns for the Gray-Scott system in a two dimensional domain which are far from ...

Motions of Curves in the Projective Plane Inducing the Kaup-Kupershmidt Hierarchy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The equation of a motion of curves in the projective plane is deduced. Local flows are defined in terms of polynomial differential functions. A family of local flows inducing the Kaup-Kupershmidt hierarchy is constructed.

Super‐Refractory Status Epilepticus (SRSE) in a Patient With Compound Heterozygous OPA1 Variants: Case Report and Literature Review

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Super‐Refractory Status Epilepticus (SRSE) is a rare, life‐threatening neurological emergency with unclear etiology in many cases. Mitochondrial dysfunction, often due to disease‐causing genetic variants, is increasingly recognized as a cause, with each gene producing distinct pathophysiological mechanisms.
