Nature‐based approaches to invasive plant management: Insights from East African rangelands for sub‐Saharan landscape restoration

open access: yesEcological Solutions and Evidence, Volume 7, Issue 2, April/June 2026.
A nature‐based approach begins by studying an existing natural ecosystem, particularly its plant species composition, to identify suitable native plants for ecological restoration. These plants are then tested through both ex situ and in situ experiments to evaluate their effectiveness in addressing environmental degradation.

Power Quality‐Oriented Multiloop Design of Floating Wind Turbines Pitch Control

open access: yesWind Energy, Volume 29, Issue 4, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Floating offshore wind turbines (FOWTs) face inherent control limitations in above‐rated operating conditions due to right‐half‐plane zeros in the blade‐pitch‐to‐rotor‐speed dynamics, which restrict achievable control bandwidth and may lead to closed‐loop instability.

Multiobjective optimization of EDM machining parameters of TIB2 ceramic materials using regression and gray relational analysis

open access: yesHigh Temperature Materials and Processes
The aerospace industry widely uses titanium diboride, a tough material that is challenging to machine using conventional methods. We, therefore, process titanium diboride (TiB₂) to determine the best process parameters for electrical discharge machining ...

TWRS LDUA utilization study report [PDF]

open access: yes, 1994
Tank Waste Remediation Systems functional requirements were reviewed. The Light Duty Utility Arm capabilities were considered as a means to support completion of these functional requirements. The recommendation is made to continue to develop the LDUA, integrating TWRS functional needs into the design to better support completion of TWRS mission needs.

Evaluating selected skip‐row planting patterns for upland cotton (Gossypium hirsutum L.) in North Carolina

open access: yesAgronomy Journal, Volume 118, Issue 2, March/April 2026.
Abstract Input costs associated with cotton (Gossypium hirsutum L.) production systems have increased exponentially in recent years, prompting interest for innovative cost‐saving methods, such as alternative row configurations. The objective of this study was to evaluate the ability of various skip‐row systems to achieve similar, or greater, net ...

TWRS privatization process technical baseline [PDF]

open access: yes, 1996
The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is planning a two-phased program for the remediation of Hanford tank waste. Phase 1 is a pilot program to demonstrate the procurement of treatment services. The volume of waste treated during the Phase 1 is a small percentage of the tank waste. During Phase 2, DOE intends to procure treatment services for the balance

Breeding Ecology of the Critically Endangered Baer's Pochard (Aythya baeri): Nest Threats and Conservation Implications

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 3, March 2026.
This study identifies that the daily nest survival of Baer's Pochard was primarily influenced by three factors: it increased with greater distance from the shore and the height above water, and decreased with later laying dates. Both nest location and timing were identified as critical factors for reproductive success.

Alpine ungulates adjust diel activity to the natural return of wolves amid anthropogenic pressures

open access: yesEcography, Volume 2026, Issue 3, March 2026.
As wolves recolonise their historical range across Europe, ungulates face predation once more – but in landscapes profoundly altered by human activity. This shift raises crucial questions about their capacity to express adaptive antipredator behaviours.
