The luminosity dependence of the Type 1 AGN fraction
Using a complete, magnitude-limited sample of active galaxies from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) we show that the fraction of broad-line (Type 1) active galactic nuclei increases with luminosity of the isotropically-emitted [O III] narrow emission ...

ABSTRACT Introduction Neuroblastoma (NB) with central nervous system (CNS) metastases is rare at diagnosis, but occurs more often during relapse/progression. Patients with CNS metastases face a dismal prognosis, with no standardized curative treatment available.

The homotopy type of the loops on $(n-1)$-connected $(2n+1)$-manifolds
For $n\geq 2$ we compute the homotopy groups of $(n-1)$-connected closed manifolds of dimension $(2n+1)$. Away from the finite set of primes dividing the order of the torsion subgroup in homology, the $p$-local homotopy groups of $M$ are determined by ...

Rapid "Turn-on" of type 1 AGN in a quiescent early type galaxy SDSS1115+0544 [PDF]
We present a detailed study of a transient in the center of SDSS1115+0544 based on the extensive UV, optical, mid-IR light curves (LC) and spectra over 1200 days.

Pathogenic Germline PALB2 and RAD50 Variants in Patients With Relapsed Ewing Sarcoma
ABSTRACT Approximately 10% of patients with Ewing sarcoma (EwS) have pathogenic germline variants. Here, we report two cases: first, a novel germline pathogenic variant in partner and localizer of BRCA2 (PALB2) in a patient with a late EwS relapse. Its impact on homologous recombination is demonstrated, and breast cancer risk is discussed.

The hypothalamus in the central nervous system (CNS) has important functions in controlling systemic metabolism. A calorie-rich diet triggers CNS immune activation, impairing metabolic control and promoting obesity and Type 2 Diabetes (T2D), but the ...
