NCOA4 Accelerates Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Formation by Regulating Macrophage Activation and Ferroptosis via STAT1–CH25H Axis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Under pathological stimulation, NCOA4 in macrophages interacts with STAT1 to promote CH25H transcription. The subsequent increase in 25‐HC production activates macrophages, triggers inflammatory responses and ferroptosis, and accelerates the progression of AAA.

Lactate Signal: Modulator of Cellular Energy Production and Anabolism

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Compartmentalized lactate signaling provides a spatial framework for understanding how lactate‐rich states are generated, transported, sensed, and translated into biological outputs. This Review integrates extracellular, cytosolic, mitochondrial‐associated, and nuclear lactate mechanisms to explain how lactate shapes metabolic adaptation, immune ...

The onset of acute type A aortic dissection following recovery of type B intramural haematoma: a case report

open access: yesBMC Cardiovascular Disorders, 2020
Background Aortic intramural hematoma is a life-threatening condition reported with increasing frequency. It can be classified into Stanford type A or B depending on whether the ascending or descending aorta are involved, respectively. However, the onset

Checkpoint‐Directed Glycoengineering Reprograms the Vascular Lumen for Siglec‐Mediated Immune Regulation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Checkpoint‐directed glycoengineering installs sialylated ligands on the donor vascular lumen during ex vivo preservation, creating a localized Siglec‐7/9‐engaging interface. The engineered glycocalyx suppresses immune‐cell activation, complement deposition, and microvascular injury in arterial and kidney allografts while preserving endothelial ...

Intra-aortic balloon pump can be used after acute type A aortic dissection repair

open access: yesJournal of Cardiothoracic Surgery
Objectives We analyzed our data to evaluate the safety and feasibility of intraoperative extracorporeal membrane oxygenation and intra-aortic balloon pump use in acute type A aortic dissection repair.

Importance of Multiple-window Assessment for the Diagnosis of Ascending Aortic Dissection Using Point-of-care Ultrasound: Report of Three Cases

open access: yesClinical Practice and Cases in Emergency Medicine, 2019
Acute ascending aortic dissection has a high mortality rate and requires rapid diagnosis and treatment. Point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) can aid in the diagnosis.

Does aortic crossclamping during the cooling phase affect the early clinical outcome of acute type a aortic dissection?

open access: yes, 2008
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effects of crossclamping the ascending aorta in acute type A aortic dissection during the cooling phase for deep hypothermic arrest on early clinical ...

Targeting Nupr1‐Mediated p53 Mitochondrial Sequestration Alleviates Aortic Dissection by Restoring the Gadd45b‐Dependent Survival Program

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies Nupr1 as a crucial stress‐responsive orchestrator driving AD. Under severe stress, Nupr1 massively accumulates within mitochondria to sequester p53, triggering apoptosis and concurrently repressing the Gadd45b‐mediated survival program.

Thermally Drawn Bioelectric Catheters: Enabling Proprioceptive Endovascular Navigation

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
This work introduces a novel bioelectric navigation system eliminates the need for harmful fluoroscopy during endovascular surgeries. A bespoke 16‐electrode catheter is fabricated using rapid thermal drawing and laser micro‐machining. Paired with a real‐time tracking algorithm fusing vascular geometry detection and distance estimation, this technology ...
