Design of Stairmand-Type Sampling Cyclones
AIHAJ, 1990An empirical, nondimensional correlation of cut-point Stokes number (Stk0.5) and flow Reynolds number (Re) has been established for small Stairmand-type sampling cyclones. Four cyclones with body diameters of 38, 57, 89, and 140 mm were constructed and tested with monodisperse aerosols over a range of flow rates.

Design and other types of fixation
Design Studies, 1996Abstract Design educators often comment on the difficulties that result from a premature commitment by students to a solution to a design problem. Similarly practitioners can find it difficult to move away from an idea they have developed or precedents in a field.

Any human activity that consists of discovering or deciding that you want to know something, turning what you want to know into a question, somehow answering the question and then conveying the answer to others, is research. Why you might want to pursue such an activity is a separate question that is discussed below.

Designing Functions Using Types
2018Object Oriented (OO) programming is currently the dominant design approach in almost all software development. In OO, the natural unit of work is the “object” or “class,” and design effort is focused on defining classes that have the right shapes, behaviors, and relationships for the tasks at hand.

Designing: Rules, types and worlds
Design Studies, 1988Abstract Protocols of seven practised designers, all undertaking a common design exercise, have been analysed for patterns of reasoning and use of design rules. Patterns of reasoning were found to be shared among designers and not significantly different from reasoning in everyday life.
