Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Dormant cancer cells can hide in distant organs for years, evading treatment and the immune system. This review highlights how signals from the surrounding tissue and immune environment keep these cells inactive or trigger their reawakening. Understanding these mechanisms may help develop therapies to eliminate or control dormant cells and prevent ...

Collagenofibrotic Glomerulopathy with Thrombotic Microangiopathy: A Rare Case Report [PDF]
Collagenofibrotic Glomerulopathy (CG) is a very rare glomerular disease characterised by the massive accumulation of atypical type III collagen fibrils within the mesangial matrix and subendothelial space, as well as a marked increase in serum type III ...

This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.

Specific cleavage of human type III collagen by human polymorphonuclear leukocyte elastase.
Purified polymorphonuclear leukocyte elastase degraded native human liver type III collagen at 27 degrees C by making a cleavage through the triple helix. The enzyme had no effect on human type I collagen.

Liquid biopsy‐based diagnostic evaluation of hypermethylated CpG sites for ovarian cancer diagnosis
This schematic outlines the workflow from biomarker identification to duplex MethyLight assay validation for epithelial ovarian cancer diagnosis using cfDNA‐based liquid biopsy. Initial screening of hypermethylated CpG candidates (cg02957270, cg10061138 cg00480298, COL2A1) was performed in tissue using ARMS‐PCR, COBRA, qPCR and image analysis. Selected

Glomerular localization of type III collagen in human kidney disease [PDF]
Glomerular localization of type III collagen in human kidney disease. Kidney specimens taken from normal humans and patients with various renal diseases were examined by immunofluorescent and immunoelectron microscopy using a monoclonal antibody to the α,

Type III collagen can be present on banded collagen fibrils regardless of fibril diameter
Monoclonal antibodies that recognize an epitope within the triple helix of type III collagen have been used to examine the distribution of that collagen type in human skin, cornea, amnion, aorta, and tendon.
