Interpretable machine learning framework for designing high ionic conductivity in low‐temperature lithium‐ion battery electrolytes

open access: yesMaterials Genome Engineering Advances, EarlyView.
An interpretable machine learning framework that combines least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) regression with SHapley Additive exPlanations analysis was used to investigate the structure–property relationships in multicomponent lithium‐ion battery electrolytes.

Few‐shot learning for highly accelerated 3D time‐of‐flight MRA reconstruction

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose To develop a deep learning‐based reconstruction method for highly accelerated 3D time‐of‐flight MRA (TOF‐MRA) that achieves high‐quality reconstruction with robust generalization using extremely limited acquired raw data, addressing the challenge of time‐consuming acquisition of high‐resolution, whole‐head angiograms.

Volumetric thermometry in moving tissues using stack‐of‐radial MRI and an image‐navigated multi‐baseline proton resonance frequency shift method

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose To develop and evaluate a volumetric proton resonance frequency shift (PRF)–based thermometry method for monitoring thermal ablation in moving tissues. Methods A golden‐angle‐ordered 3D stack‐of‐radial MRI sequence was combined with an image‐navigated multi‐baseline (iNAV‐MB) PRF method to reconstruct motion‐compensated 3D temperature ...

Native ants learn how to deal with cues of invasive species: responses to footprints of invasive ants are shaped by experience

open access: yesOikos, EarlyView.
Invasive ants threaten biodiversity worldwide. They may benefit from being novel if native species fail to show appropriate responses to their cues. Cues include chemical footprints (or ‘home‐range markings' in ants) left by all walking insects, which resemble cuticular hydrocarbons (CHCs).

Vertical and temporal niche partitioning in Amazonian butterflies: implications for the evolution of thermal tolerance

open access: yesOikos, EarlyView.
Closely related species living in sympatry are often partitioned into divergent ecological niches. Such specialization can be enabled by the evolution of divergent traits enhancing adaptation to different niches. In this study, we investigate the partitioning of closely related butterfly species into different forest strata and daily activity time and ...
