Suspension Culture and Plant Regeneration of Typha latifolia [PDF]

open access: yesHortScience, 2002
Typha latifolia L. (broadleaf cattail) callus was initiated from leaf sections, as well as from pistillate and staminate spikes. Two basal media in combination with three growth regulator regimes were tested for their capacity to induce callus from the explants.

Niche Segregation Between Black‐Necked Crane and Common Crane in Human‐Modified Landscape, Huize Black‐Necked Crane National Nature Reserve, Yunnan Province, Southwestern China

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 4, April 2026.
We investigated how Black‐necked Cranes and Common Cranes coexist in agro‐wetland landscapes of southwest China by reconstructing their plant‐based diets using eDNA metabarcoding. Black‐necked Cranes maintained broad, stable diets centered on natural vegetation, while Common Cranes shifted dynamically to energy‐dense crops, leading to progressive niche

The effects of harvest date and frequency on the yield, nutritional value and mineral content of the paludiculture crop cattail (Typha latifolia L.) in the first year after planting [PDF]

open access: yesMires and Peat, 2019
The use of drained peatlands as dairy grasslands leads to long-term organic matter losses, CO2 emissions and soil subsidence. It also yields grass with increased N and P contents compared to grass grown on mineral soils due to peat mineralisation, which ...

The Role of Forage Quantity and Quality in the Migration and Diet of a Northern Ungulate During Their Neonatal Period

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 4, April 2026.
In this article, we examined the differences in forage quantity and quality between two defined ranges of a wood bison population as an attempt to identify possible factors influencing their migration during the neonatal period. We found significant differences in the forage quantity and quality between ranges, suggesting a link between these factors ...

Towards Affordable Wetland Evapotranspiration Monitoring Using the Variance‐Bowen Ratio Method: Insights From Three Contrasting Wetlands

open access: yesWater Resources Research, Volume 62, Issue 4, April 2026.
Abstract Accurate measurement of evapotranspiration (ET) is essential for sustainable water management. Standard methods such as eddy covariance (EC) are costly, while alternatives such as surface renewal are cheaper but require calibration and complex data processing.
