Abstract Tropical cyclone (TC) activity over the western North Pacific (WNP) and North Atlantic (NA) shows pronounced decadal variability linked to the AMO and PDO. We reveal a strong seasonal dependence in their inter‐basin relationship. A robust antiphase appears in autumn (SON), but no significant relationship exists in summer (JJA).

Abstract This study investigates the response characteristics of oceanic pCO2 in different regions of the Northern South China Sea (NSCS) to tropical cyclone genesis frequency (TCF) on interannual timescale, and clarifies the response mechanisms. Results show that reduced Sea Surface Temperature (SST) induced by TCs suppresses pCO2 in the northwestern ...

Abstract Convection anomalies in the eastern and western Maritime Continent (MC) during boreal autumn exhibit distinct characteristics and climatic effects, but their impacts on South China Sea (SCS) tropical cyclones (TCs) remain unclear. Here we reveal that the eastern MC convection mode, although it explains less convection variance, exerts strong ...

Abstract The NASA Atmospheric Waves Experiment (AWE) employs an OH imager that began measurements aboard the International Space Station (ISS) on 22 November 2023. The motivation for AWE was to quantify gravity wave (GW) responses to diverse sources and their influences extending into the mesosphere and higher altitudes.

Abstract Spaceborne radar systems such as the Global Precipitation Measurement Mission (GPM)'s core satellite Dual‐frequency Precipitation Radar (DPR) provide global insight into precipitation structure, storm morphology, and hydrological cycles. However, their limited spatial and temporal sampling and high cost constrain their ability to continuously ...
