The newfound relationship between extrachromosomal DNAs and excised signal circles
Extrachromosomal DNAs (ecDNAs) contribute to the progression of many human cancers. In addition, circular DNA by‐products of V(D)J recombination, excised signal circles (ESCs), have roles in cancer progression but have largely been overlooked. In this Review, we explore the roles of ecDNAs and ESCs in cancer development, and highlight why these ...

Correlation Between U/Th and Pb/Os Abundance Ratios and its Application in Nuclear Cosmochronology
The abundance ratios of radioactive elements U/Th and stable elements Pb/Os from the r -process are found to have a strong correlation. This correlation is quite robust with respect to astrophysical conditions.

U-Pb isotopic characteristics of lunar meteorites Yamato-793274 and Yamato-86032 [PDF]
U-Pb data from lunar meteorites Yamato (Y)-86032 and Y-793274 confirm that they are of lunar origin, but also indicate that they are not from the same source region on the Moon and experienced different events while residing as lunar regolith.

Cryptochrome and PAS/LOV proteins play intricate roles in circadian clocks where they act as both sensors and mediators of protein–protein interactions. Their ubiquitous presence in signaling networks has positioned them as targets for small‐molecule therapeutics. This review provides a structural introduction to these protein families.

This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

Turning Trash Into Treasure: Extracting Meaning From Discordant Data via a Dedicated Application
Zircon U–Pb geochronology is a vital tool for dating geological events, but interpreting discordant zircon ages—often the result of Pb loss due to fluid‐rock interactions—remains challenging.
