AGE AND PETROGENESIS OF DOLERITES ON THE MARA RIVER (SAYAN MARGINAL UPLIFT OF THE BASEMENT, SOUTHERN PART OF THE SIBERIAN CRATON)

open access: yesГеодинамика и тектонофизика
This work focuses on petrological-and-geochemical features, as well as age of dolerites widespread within the basins of the Mara, Kamenka and Uvat rivers.

Rb-Sr isotopic systematics of lherzolitic shergottite Yamato-793605 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
We have undertaken a Rb-Sr isotopic study of the lherzolitic shergottite, Yamato (Y)-793605. The acid-leaching experiment designed to remove secondary Pb contamination during previous work with U-Th-Pb systematics did not significantly affect the Rb-Sr ...

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

An upstream open reading frame regulates expression of the mitochondrial protein Slm35 and mitophagy flux

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

First U–Pb LA-ICP-MS Radioisotopic Ages of the Devonian–Carboniferous Boundary Black Shales (Domanik Facies) in the Kama–Kinel Trough System, Volga–Ural Petroleum Province, East European Platform

open access: yesGeoresursy
For the first time, zircons from thin volcanic ash layers contained within organic-rich black shales (Domanik facies) at the Devonian–Carboniferous boundary have been dated using the U–Pb LA-ICP-MS method.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

A database of detrital zircon geochronology ages of Cambrian to Paleogene deposits in South China

open access: yesGeoscience Data Journal
Complications of detrital zircons databases provide a means for statistically analysing a variety of significant geological problems. In this work, we tried to collect a database about the South China Phanerozoic detrital zircon geochronology data.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.
