Double-dual types over the Banach space C(K)

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 2005
Let K be a compact Hausdorff space and C(K) the Banach space of all real-valued continuous functions on K, with the sup-norm. Types over C(K) (in the sense of Krivine and Maurey) can be uniquely represented by pairs (ℓ,u) of bounded real-valued functions

String Gradient Weighted Moving Finite Elements for Systems of Partial Differential Equations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
Moving finite element methods resolve regions containing steep gradients using a manageable number of moving nodes. One such implementation is Gradient Weighted Moving Finite Elements (GWMFE).

Ground-State Instabilities in The One-dimensional Penson-Kolb-Hubbard Model

open access: yes, 1995
Different kinds of instabilities (CDW, SDW, SS) in the 1D Hubbard model with pair-hopping interaction are investigated using an approximate Bethe-Salpeter equation.

LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.

A method for linearizing a nonlinear system with six state variables and three control variables [PDF]

open access: yes
A nonlinear system governed by x = f(x,u) with six state variables and three control variables is considered in this project. A set of transformations from (x,u) - space to (z,v) - space is defined such that the linear tangent model is independent of the

Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

Recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming and confer resistance to targeted therapies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that the majority of the 18 analyzed recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming. The most potent mutations are activating, co‐operate with other ERBB receptors, and are sensitive to pan‐ERBB inhibitors. Activating ERBB4 mutations also promote therapy resistance in EGFR‐mutant lung cancer.

Averaged deviations of Orlicz processes and majorizing measures

open access: yesModern Stochastics: Theory and Applications, 2016
This paper is devoted to investigation of supremum of averaged deviations $|X(t)-f(t)-\int _{\mathbb{T}}(X(u)-f(u))\hspace{0.1667em}\mathrm{d}\mu (u)/\mu (\mathbb{T})|$ of a stochastic process from Orlicz space of random variables using the method of ...

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve

Implementing and Testing a U-Space System: Lessons Learnt

open access: yesAerospace
Within the framework of the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation program, one of the main goals of the Labyrinth project was to develop and test the Conflict Management services of a U-space-based Unmanned Traffic Management (UTM) system.
