Noninvasive Glucose Detection with Biodegradable Electrodes from Rice Starch Functionalized with a Carbon Quantum Dot/Nickel Oxide Nanocomposite

open access: yesAnalysis &Sensing, Volume 6, Issue 2, March 2026.
The graphical abstract shows an eco‐friendly approach to fabricating a biodegradable electrochemical sensor. Carbon quantum dot/nickel oxide (CQD/NiO) nanocomposites are synthesized using Aloe arborescens leaf extract, which served as a natural reducing and stabilizing agent.

Environmental Risk Assessment and Anti‐Corrosion Efficacy of Safe‐by‐Design Nitrite‐Based Nanomaterials for Maritime Applications

open access: yesNano Select, Volume 7, Issue 2, February 2026.
The environmental behavior and impact of anti‐corrosion nanoadditives, ZnAl‐NO2 and MgAl‐NO2 layered double hydroxides (LDH), are assessed under marine conditions. These nanomaterials show instability in water but exhibit no or low toxicity to most tested marine species.

Quantification of natural rubber blends by reflection/reflectance infrared and confocal Raman spectroscopy: a comparison of statistical methods [PDF]

open access: yesAnais da Academia Brasileira de Ciências
The blend of butadiene and acrylonitrile copolymer (NBR) with natural poly-cis-isoprene (NR) shows increased resistance to swelling in solvents in comparison to the individual components. In aerospace, NBR rubber is used as thermal protection for rockets
