TRIB3 suppresses milk fatty acids metabolism by inhibiting p‐AKT/PPARG signaling in goat mammary epithelial cells

open access: yesAnimal Research and One Health, EarlyView.
In this study, it revealed that TRIB3 could mediate the transcriptional activity of PPARG, inhibit the phosphorylation of akt, and reduce the expression of lipid metabolism‐related genes, thus inhibiting TAG synthesis and affecting fatty acid composition.

The E3 ubiquitin ligase c-IAP1 regulates PCSK9-mediated LDLR degradation: Linking the TNF-α pathway to cholesterol uptake [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Proprotein convertase subtilisin/kexin type 9 (PCSK9), in addition to LDLR (low-density lipoprotein receptor) and APOB (apolipoprotein B), is one of three loci implicated in autosomal dominant hypercholesterolaemia (ADH)^1^.

m6A‐mRNA Reader YTHDF2 Identified as a Potential Risk Gene in Autism With Disproportionate Megalencephaly

open access: yesAutism Research, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Among autistic individuals, a subphenotype of disproportionate megalencephaly (ASD‐DM) seen at three years of age is associated with co‐occurring intellectual disability and poorer prognoses later in life. However, many of the genes contributing to ASD‐DM have yet to be delineated. In this study, we identified additional ASD‐DM candidate genes

Mitochondria and Endoplasmic Reticulum Contact Site as a Regulator of Proteostatic Stress Responses in Neurodegenerative Diseases

open access: yesBioEssays, EarlyView.
Recent findings indicate that mitochondria‐associated membranes (MAMs), where the endoplasmic reticulum directly contacts the mitochondria, are a novel microdomain essential for cellular homeostasis, including proteostasis. We summarize the disruption of protein homeostasis and MAM alteration in neurodegenerative diseases, then discuss challenges and ...

Peptide‐based covalent inhibitors of protein–protein interactions

open access: yesJournal of Peptide Science, Volume 29, Issue 1, January 2023., 2023
Peptide interaction motifs derived from a protein–protein interaction interface can serve as starting points for the development of inhibitors. However, for certain proteins when applying competitive inhibitors, peptide‐based ligands with an irreversible binding mode may be more active. This review summarizes examples of covalent inhibitors that employ
