We present new integral-field spectroscopy in the outskirts of two nearby, edge-on, late-type galaxies to search for the H alpha emission that is expected from the exposure of their hydrogen gas to the metagalactic ultraviolet background (UVB).

UGC 7069: the largest ring galaxy [PDF]

Abstract We find that UGC 7069 is the largest ring galaxy known to date. In this Letter, we present a multiwavelength study of this galaxy (combining radio, Two-Micron All-Sky Survey, optical and ultraviolet data). The ring of UGC 7069, whose diameter measures ∼115 kpc, is also warped at its edges.

Radio Observations of the AGN and Gas in Low Surface Brightness Galaxies [PDF]

LSB galaxies have low metallicities, diffuse stellar disks, and massive HI disks. We have detected molecular gas in two giant LSB galaxies, UGC 6614 and F568-6. A millimeter continuum source has been detected in UGC 6614 as well.
