Inkjet Fabrication of Frame Dipole FSS [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Digital fabrication techniques gives the possibility of producing elements with very thin and precise features which could allow the modification of UHF structures to reduce ink usage while still achieving similar performance. This paper investigates the

Using U‐Nets to Predict the Effects of Head Motion on Simulated Specific Absorption Rate for Ultra‐High Field Magnetic Resonance Imaging With Parallel Transmission

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, Volume 96, Issue 2, Page 650-665, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Purpose Ultrahigh‐field MRI requires careful management of the specific absorption rate (SAR), which is subject and subject‐position dependent. Within‐scan subject motion may exacerbate local SAR exposure, necessitating large safety margins to prevent SAR underestimation, which hampers imaging performance.

Nanopower CMOS transponders for UHF and microwave RFID systems

open access: yes, 2007
At first, we present an analysis and a discussion of the design options and tradeoffs for a passive microwave transponder. We derive a set of criteria for the optimization of the voltage multiplier, the power matching network and the backscatter ...

Mesoscale Whole‐Brain T2*‐Weighted and Associated Quantitative MRI in Humans at 10.5 T

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, Volume 96, Issue 2, Page 817-825, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Purpose To demonstrate mesoscale whole‐brain T2*‐weighted (T2*w) MRI at 10.5 T, quantify R2* relaxation rate and magnetic susceptibility (χ), and evaluate T2*w contrast at such high field strength. Methods Multi‐echo GRE (ME‐GRE) data were collected in healthy adults at 0.5 mm isotropic resolution at 10.5 T.

Health Preferences and Sorting in the City

open access: yesHealth Economics, Volume 35, Issue 7, Page 1033-1055, July 2026.
ABSTRACT There are large health inequalities between neighborhoods in many cities of the world. This paper studies individuals' sorting based on health amenities and exposes an important connection between health preferences and the housing market. I estimate a neighborhood choice model using geolocated data from a health survey in New York City and ...

Passive uhf rfid tag antenna using polycarbonate and pdms material [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
This paper proposes a UHF RFID tag antenna design using meander lines traced on a bowtie shape and the propagation measurement of the tag done in free space, directly on human skin, and on PDMS material.

Study on the Application of an Ultra-High-Frequency Fractal Antenna to Partial Discharge Detection in Switchgears

open access: yesSensors, 2013
The ultra-high-frequency (UHF) method is used to analyze the insulation condition of electric equipment by detecting the UHF electromagnetic (EM) waves excited by partial discharge (PD).

Spatial and temporal variation in survival of female wild turkeys

open access: yesThe Journal of Wildlife Management, Volume 90, Issue 5, July 2026.
We monitored 370 female wild turkeys across North Carolina's 3 ecoregions from 2020‐2022 to understand factors influencing their survival. Female survival varied by ecoregion and behavior state, with the incubation period having the lowest survival rates. None of the land cover variables affected survival.
