AbstractIn this paper we classify triangular UHF algebras. The generic triangular UHF algebra is constructed as follows. Let (pn) be any sequence of positive integers such that pm|pn whenever m ⩽ n. For each n let Tpn be the algebra of all pn × pn upper triangular complex matrices, and for m ⩽ n, let σpn·pm: Tpm → Tpn be the mapping, x↦1d⊗x, where d ...

The Rohlin Property for Shifts on UHF Algebras and Automorphisms of Cuntz Algebras
Let \(M_{n^\infty}\) be the infinite tensor product of copies of the \(n\times n\) matrices \(M_n\). The one-sided shift \(\sigma\) on \(M_{n^\infty}\) is defined by \(\sigma(x)= 1_n\otimes x\), \(x\in M_{n^\infty}\), where \(1_n\) is the identity of \(M_n\).

Spectral analysis for automorphisms of UHF C∗-algebras
Let \(M_ n\) be the \(n\times n\) complex matrices with normalized trace \(\tau\). Let \(u\in M_ n\) be a unitary operator and let \(u=\sum \exp (it_ k)e_ k\) be the spectral decomposition of u. Let \(\nu_ u\) be the measure defined on the torus \({\mathbb{T}}\) by \(\nu_ u=\sum \tau (e_ k)\delta_{t_ k}\) where \(\delta_ t\) denotes the Dirac measure ...

On the structure of simple C∗-algebras tensored with a UHF-algebra, II [PDF]
Let \(D\) be a simple unital \(C^*\)-algebra, let \(B\) be a UHF-algebra, and put \(A= B\otimes D\). The author shows that if \(p,q\in A\) are projections and \(\tau(p)< \tau(q)\) for all quasi-traces \(\tau\) on \(A\), then \(p\lesssim q\) (in the sense of Murray and von Neumann).

C*-bialgebra Defined as the Direct Sum of UHF Algebras [PDF]
Let ${\cal A}_{0}(*)$ denote the direct sum of a certain set of UHF algebras and let ${\cal A}(*)\equiv {\bf C}\oplus {\cal A}_{0}(*)$. We introduce a non-cocommutative comultiplication $Δ_ϕ$ on ${\cal A}(*)$, and give an example of comodule-C$^{*}$-algebra of the C$^{*}$-bialgebra $({\cal A}(*),Δ_ϕ)$.

Effects of Integrated Fuzzy Logic PID Controller on Satellite Antenna Tracking System. [PDF]
An electrical device that transforms the electricity into the waves of radio and vice versa is termed the antenna. Its main deployment is in the transmitter and receiver of the antenna. While transmission, the transmitter of radio at the extremities of the antenna furnishes the electricity which oscillates at the frequency of radio wave and energy is ...

Real-time assessment of potential peak local specific absorption rate value without phase monitoring: Trigonometric maximization method for worst-case local specific absorption rate determination. [PDF]
Purpose Multi‐transmit MRI systems are typically equipped with dedicated hardware to sample the reflected/lost power in the transmit channels. After extensive calibration, the amplitude and phase of the signal at the feed of each array element can be accurately determined.

The Rohlin property for Z2-actions on UHF algebras
We define a Rohlin property for Z2-actions on UHF algebras and show a non-commutative Rohlin type theorem. Among those actions with the Rohlin property, we classify product type actions up to outer conjugacy. We consider two classes of UHF algebras. For UHF algebras in one class including the CAR algebra, there is one and only one outer conjugacy class

Even a Blind Chicken Sometimes Finds a Grain of Corn—In My Case in Space
Abstract Sometimes you need to take strategic risks even though you cannot know in advance where they will lead. I left my comfortable city life in Helsinki for a PhD position in space physics far away in the Arctic. The first part of the title of this paper is a compliment—originally a German proverb—a throwaway comment from a professor in connection ...

The SHARK integral generation and digestion system
The BLAS level 3‐driven SHARK integral generation and digestion library is introduced and it is discussed how it leads to greatly simplified workflows and substantial computational speedups. Abstract In this paper, the SHARK integral generation and digestion engine is described.
