Do Fossil Fuel Subsidies Crowd Out Health Expenditure? A Country‐Level Longitudinal Analysis

open access: yesHealth Economics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Annually, countries allocate hundreds of millions of dollars to subsidize fossil fuels, often at the expense of public health and environmental sustainability. This undermines progress toward Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 3 (Good Health and Well‐Being) and 13 (Climate Action).

DIBROVSKOE URANIUM-TORIUM-RARE-EARTH ORE OCCURRENCE OF THE UKRAINIAN SHIELD (LITHO-STRATIGRAPHIC CRITERIА OF THE GENESIS AND LOCALIZATION OF ORE BODIES)

open access: yesГеохімія техногенезу, 2019
The paper compares the Dibrovskoe uranium-thorium-rare-earth ore occurrence of the Ukrainian shield (northern Azov region) by a num-ber of criteria (structural-tectonic, formational, stratigraphic, geochronological, lithological, mineral-petrographic ...

From source to sink in central Gondwana: Exhumation of the Precambrian basement rocks of Tanzania and sediment accumulation in the adjacent Congo basin [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Apatite fission track (AFT) and (U-Th)/He (AHe) thermochronometry data are reported and used to unravel the exhumation history of crystalline basement rocks from the elevated (>1000 m above sea level) but low-relief Tanzanian Craton.

Identification of Natural and Artificial Modifications in DNA at the Nanometer Level

open access: yesJournal of Raman Spectroscopy, EarlyView.
Short single‐ and double‐stranded DNA sequences with natural and artificial markers are examined at ambient conditions using TERS to identify and localize the labelled nucleobases. The differences between single‐ and double‐stranded DNA should provide clear experimental evidence of the extreme surface sensitivity of TERS.

3D‐Printed Crosslinked Nanocellulose‐MXene Hydrogels and Aerogels with High Strength and Conductivity

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
This study presents a robust strategy for 3D printing conductive, mechanically resilient MXene–CNF composite structures using a single‐step freeze‐induced crosslinking method. The printed architectures remain stable in both wet and dry states, exhibit high electrical conductivity and mechanical strength, and demonstrate practical application in fully ...

Unlocking Klockmannite: Formation of Colloidal Quasi‐2D CuSe Nanocrystals and Photo‐Physical Properties Arising From Crystal Anisotropy

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
Thiol‐free hot injection approach yields quasi‐2D klockmannite CuSe nanocrystals, specifically nanosheets and uniform triangular nanoplatelets. This study reconsiders the klockmannite from the point of view of crystal anisotropy and demonstrates its effect on plasmonic response in the near‐infrared spectral region with the theoretical emergence of ...

Problems of geotechnical zoning of the Ukrainian shield basement and the ways of solution

open access: yesМінеральні ресурси України, 2018
The conceptual questions concerning the principles of forming up the geotectonic zoning scheme of the Ukrainian Shield (US) basement are considered. It is shown that the modern zoning scheme of Precambrian formations must be based on the concept of the ...
