In isolation, distal ulna fractures are rare. They are often found in conjunction with distal radius fractures, and the complexity of the interaction of the distal ulna with the radioulnar joint and triangular fibrocartilage complex makes understanding and treatment of distal ulna fractures challenging.

Juxtacortical osteoma of the ulna
Journal of Orthopaedic Science, 2002Acase of juxtacortical osteoma of the ulna in a 47-year-old woman is presented. She had a dense bony mass on the ulna. Radiological examinations (plain radiography, computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging) strongly suggested a rare case of juxtacortical osteoma of a long tubular bone.

Congenital Pseudarthrosis of the Ulna
Journal of Hand Surgery, 1994Congenital ulnar pseudarthrosis is a very rare condition. Two cases are reported in addition to 36 already reported in the English literature. One of the cases reported had a “one-hone forearm” procedure done, with a satisfactory result after 6 years. The second case had a free vascularized fibula graft procedure with restoration of the bony alignment ...

The anatomy of the proximal ulna
Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery, 2007The posterior border of the ulna is the most important bony landmark for all dorsal surgical approaches and the guideline for open reduction, internal fixation of displaced comminuted fractures of the proximal ulna. We examined 74 cadaveric specimens to evaluate the anatomy of the proximal ulna, especially the course of the posterior border, the point ...

Stabilization of the Distal Ulna
Hand Clinics, 1991Stabilization of the remaining distal ulna following its resection for various disorders resulting in pain and instability of this joint is necessary for long-term satisfactory results. The method described uses a distally based flap of the extensor carpi ulnaris to provide stability of the distal ulna and support to the carpus along its ulnar border.
