Defect‐Driven Reconstruction of Bismuth Nanoflowers via Precursor Engineering for Highly Efficient CO2‐to‐Formate Electrochemical Reduction

open access: yesSmall Science, EarlyView.
A defect‐engineered Bi nanoflower catalyst is developed for CO2 reduction to selectively produce formate. The nanoflower catalyst exhibits >95% Faradaic efficiency over a wide potential range and achieves −340 mA cm−2 at –1.08 V versus reversible hydrogen electrode in a flow cell.

Drug Policy and the Ultima Ratio in A Social and Democratic State, Spain

open access: yesOñati Socio-Legal Series, 2012
As a Member State of the UN and the EU, Spain's drug policy is heavily conditioned by these external superior ‘legal personalities’. Although, the Spanish legislature has enacted amendments to legislation on illicit substances over the last ten years to

High Connectivity at Abyssal Depths: Genomic and Proteomic Insights Into Population Structure of the Pan‐Atlantic Deep‐Sea Bivalve Ledella ultima (E. A. Smith, 1885) [PDF]

open access: yesEcol Evol
ABSTRACT Phylogeographic analyses have advanced our understanding of evolutionary processes in the deep sea, yet patterns of genetic variation and population divergence at abyssal depths remain poorly understood. The bivalve Ledella ultima is one of the most abundant protobranchs in the abyssal Atlantic, making it a valuable model organism for studying

Degradation Processes in Positive Electrode Composites for All‐Solid‐State Lithium‐Ion Batteries Visualized by Scanning Spreading Resistance Microscopy

open access: yesSmall Methods, EarlyView.
This study uses scanning spreading resistance microscopy to investigate the effect of exposure to high electrochemical potential and electrode structure on local resistance of NCM‐based positive electrode composites in all‐solid‐state batteries. This investigation reveals the degradation processes that severe contact losses between NCM particles occur ...

Hierarchical Ag Coating on Active Zinc Metal Powder Anodes via Galvanic Replacement for High‐Performance Aqueous Zn‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesSmall Structures, EarlyView.
AgNSs are uniformly coated on ZnMP through a controlled galvanic replacement reaction (GRR), significantly improving energy density, reducing hydrogen evolution, and enhancing cycling stability. This Ag@ZnMP anode design, validated by long‐term stability in symmetric cells and improved performance in full cells, demonstrates the potential of GRR ...

Quantifying phenotypic plasticity: A call for consistency

open access: yesFunctional Ecology, EarlyView.
Read the free Plain Language Summary for this article on the Journal blog. Abstract The interest of evolutionary, functional and applied ecologists in the study of phenotypic plasticity has grown considerably in recent decades. From being considered irrelevant in the mid‐20th century, phenotypic plasticity is now considered ubiquitous and essential for
