Ultimate load analysis of bridge decks
Building Science, 1967Abstract The yield line method for ultimate load analysis of slabs has been applied to simply supported, edge stiffened, and continuous bridge decks. The importance of punching shear failure has been emphasized. An extention of the basic yield line approach to beam and slab type decks is suggested.

Analysis of Ultimate Loads of Shallow Foundations
Journal of the Soil Mechanics and Foundations Division, 1973The paper presents a modern outlook of the problem of bearing capacity of shallow foundations, incorporating all major contributions to the subject, along with best available solutions and appropriate numerical values of bearing capacity factors and coefficients.

Painleve analysis and singularity confinement: the ultimate conjecture
Journal of Physics A: Mathematical and General, 1993Summary: We prove a new integrability criterion based on the combination of two powerful integrability detectors: the `Painlevé method' (for continuous systems) and the singularity confinement (for discrete systems). With this new criterion we can treat a large variety of systems that combine discrete and continuous characteristics: differential ...

Ultimate load analysis of plate foundations
Meccanica, 1973The behaviour of circular plates used as isolated foundations is investigated on the basis of earlier studies[6], [7] of the limit state of indefinite plates resting on elastoplastic continua and subjected to distributed loads. The upshot is an easy-to-use procedure of ultimate load analysis that permits the determination of: --the limit load for ...

Ultimate Strength Analysis of Curved I‐Beams
Journal of Engineering Mechanics, 1983A method of analyzing the elastic and inelastic large‐displacement behavior of horizontally curved I‐beams based on the transfer matrix method is presented. The field transfer matrix is derived under the assumption that the elastic core in each segment is constant and the resultant force in the yielded portions of the cross section is replaced by the ...

Ultimate Bearing Capacity Analysis of Schwedler Suspendome
Advanced Materials Research, 2011Prestress suspendome structure is a new two-double space structure system, which is composed of single-layer spherical reticulated shells and cable-strut tensile structure, and taking full advantages of two systems. Compared to single-layer shells, stiffness and stability are improved effectively.

Ultimate strength analysis of highly damaged plates
Marine Structures, 2016Abstract This work deals with the ultimate compressive strength of highly damaged plating resulting from dropping objects, grounding or collision. Extensive static nonlinear finite element analyses are conducted, where several governing parameters are considered. The effect of dent depth as well as dent size is studied.

Ultimate load analysis of simple structures
Nuclear Engineering and Design, 1967Abstract The ultimate static load carrying capacity of a simple structure of ductile material, subjected to predominantly tensile stresses, is defined as the loading at which a tensile plastic instability occurs, analogous to necking in simple tension.
