Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

The Aging Blood: Cellular Origins, Circulating Drivers, and Therapeutic Potential

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
As a conduit linking all organs, the blood system both reflects and actively drives systemic aging. This review highlights how circulating pro‐aging and antiaging factors and age‐associated hematopoietic stem cell dysfunction contribute to immunosenescence and multi‐organ decline, positioning the hematopoietic system as a target for aging intervention.

Testing a Personalized Approach to Chronic Low Back Pain: A Randomized Controlled Trial in Older Veterans

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective We aimed to test the efficacy of personalized treatment of older veterans with chronic low back pain (CLBP) delivered by Aging Back Clinics (ABCs) as compared with usual care (UC). Methods Two hundred ninety‐nine veterans aged 65 to 89 with CLBP from three Veterans Affairs (VA) medical centers underwent baseline testing, randomization to ABC ...

Adaptive ultimate load analysis of RC shells

open access: yesComputer Assisted Methods in Engineering and Science, 2023
The aim of the present paper is a synthesis of both realistic modelling of the structural behavior of reinforced concrete (RC) shells and an adaptive finite element (FE) calculation tool suitable for the solution of nonlinear problems involving strain ...

Finite element analysis of behavior and ultimate strength of composite column

open access: yesScience and Engineering of Composite Materials, 2022
Composite sections are found to be a novel technique in modern day scenario of construction. This stands tall than the ordinary and conventional type of constructions. Columns as a structural element play a vital role in structural frame.

A Scaling Law to Predict the Finite-Length Performance of Spatially-Coupled LDPC Codes

open access: yes, 2015
Spatially-coupled LDPC codes are known to have excellent asymptotic properties. Much less is known regarding their finite-length performance. We propose a scaling law to predict the error probability of finite-length spatially-coupled ensembles when ...

Hopfield Neural Networks for Online Constrained Parameter Estimation With Time‐Varying Dynamics and Disturbances

open access: yesInternational Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, EarlyView.
This paper proposes two projector‐based Hopfield neural network (HNN) estimators for online, constrained parameter estimation under time‐varying data, additive disturbances, and slowly drifting physical parameters. The first is a constraint‐aware HNN that enforces linear equalities and inequalities (via slack neurons) and continuously tracks the ...
