Ultimate Load Behavior of Trapezoidal Steel Decks

Journal of Structural Engineering, 1984
This paper reports the experimental investigations that have been carried out to study the ultimate strength and behavior of trapezoidal steel flooring units. The steel deck models were subjected to pure bending loads and the failure was found to occur either due to yielding of compression flange or due to web buckling.

The ultimate investment: a case study on behavioral economics

2022
This thesis refers to, in the premise of an experiment, through the completion of questionnaires, the measure that a sample of adult citizens of Greece was affected by some behavioral heuristics, along with certain social traits, in investing in a Ponzi pyramid scheme. Initially, there is a description of behavioral economics. To be more precise, there

Elastic and ultimate behavior of amorphous polymer networks

Journal of Macromolecular Science, Part B, 1971
Abstract This paper proposes that physically cross-linked amorphous polymer networks can successfully be treated a s reinforced composite solids. The suggested model is based on observations in three different areas of investigation: on the composite solid approach of oriented polymers, on the time-dependent fracture strength of polymer networks, and ...

Ultimate Strength and Post-Ultimate Strength Behavior of Damaged Tubular Members in Offshore Structures

Journal of Offshore Mechanics and Arctic Engineering, 1988
Abstract An idealized structural unit model is constructed to represent the pre and post-ultimate strength behavior of a damaged tubular member with various boundary conditions subjected to various end loads. Local denting and overall permanent lateral deflection are considered as a damage.

The impact of a curriculum change on student attitude and ultimate professional behavior

Journal of Dental Education, 1979
The longitudinal effects of curriculum changes on student attitude and the relationship between attitudes as students and behavior as a professionals in practice are explored in this paper. A curriculum change (treatment of handicapped patients) was planned, introduced, and its effects on student attitude and professional behavior monitored.

Ultimate behavior of composite beams with shallow I-sections

Steel and Composite Structures, 2013
Bending behavior of reinforced concrete slabs encased over shallow I-sections at different levels of compression heads were investigated in present study. 1500 mm long I-sections were used to create composite slabs. Compression heads of monolithic experimental members were encased at different levels into the concrete slabs.

Reasoning about Ultimate Causes of Behavior

1991
Abstract In the last chapter we saw that during the previous twenty-five years our understanding of biological evolution has been deepened by several new or newly clarified concepts. Specifically, the following four stand out in importance for the evolution of behavior.

Ultimate and service behavior of ferrocement roof slab panels

Construction and Building Materials, 2005
Abstract The aim of this research paper is to study the ultimate and service behavior of ferrocement roof slab panels. The test results of six simply supported roof slab panels are presented. The parameters of study include: the effect of the percentage of wire mesh reinforcement by volume and the structural shape of the panels on the ultimate ...

Ultimate Behaviors of Tie Plates Used as Bridge Restrainer

Journal of Structural Engineering, 1991
The prevention of the falling out of bridge girders during earthquakes has been recognized a critical factor in the seismic design of bridges. Among the various treatments and devices the bridge restrainer tie plate is an important structural element. It directly prevents the falling out by connecting a girder to another girder or a pier.
