RFI suppression for ultra wideband radar

IEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic Systems, 1997
An estimate-and-subtract algorithm is presented for the real-time digital suppression of radio frequency interference (RFI) in ultrawideband (UWB) synthetic aperture radar (SAR) systems used for foliage- and ground-penetrating imaging. The algorithm separately processes fixed- and variable-frequency interferers.

Handheld Ultra-Wideband Through-Wall Radar

2017 Seminar on Detection Systems Architectures and Technologies (DAT), 2017
Through the Wall RADAR plays a crucial role in urban environment and military area. This kind of systems operate in ultra wideband (UWB) for penetration through obstacle materials such as drywall, brick wall, autoclaved aerated concrete wall and concrete wall.

Waveform synthesis for ultra wideband radar

Proceedings of 1994 IEEE National Radar Conference, 2002
This paper investigates the Fourier synthesis method of waveform generation for ultrawide band (UWB) radar. From Fourier theory, any periodic signal can be decomposed into a sum of weighted sinusoids. Conversely a periodic signal can be generated by a suitably weighted sum of sinusoids.

Interferoceiver and ultra-wideband radar receiver

SPIE Proceedings, 2006
Ultra-wideband radar leads to optimum slant range resolution in radar imaging. There is a major problem in receiving short duration ultra-wideband radar signals and preserving their wave forms, because the conventional radar receivers are super heterodyne receivers.

An ultra-wideband radar approach to nondestructive testing

2014 IEEE International Conference on Ultra-WideBand (ICUWB), 2014
In this paper a new method for nondestructive testing (NDT), applied to carbon fiber composite materials, is investigated. The approach is based on the comparison between the electromagnetic signal reflected by the carbon fiber composite sheet under test, when an ultra-wideband (UWB) signal is incident on it, and the one reflected by a healthy sheet ...

Practical Application of Ultra-Wideband Radars

2006 3rd International Conference on Ultrawideband and Ultrashort Impulse Signals, 2006
The possibility of ultra-wideband (UWB) radar use in various fields for remote measuring of the object's motion at short distance is considered. As an illustration UWB radar in medicine for remote measuring of patient's heart activity and respiration is shown. The measuring method is described and practical results of tests are cited.

Ultra-Wideband Ground Penetrating Impulse Radar

2002
On the basis of numerical simulations of different GPR scenarios and field experience the technical requirements for the impulse GPR system specialized on detection and identification of small and shallow buried objects have been formulated. These requirements have been partly realized in the video impulse ground penetrating radar system developed in ...

Macro-motion detection using ultra-wideband impulse radar

2014 36th Annual International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society, 2014
Radar has the advantage of being able to detect hidden individuals, which can be used in homeland security, disaster rescue, and healthcare monitoring-related applications. Human macro-motion detection using ultra-wideband impulse radar is studied in this paper.

Ultra-Wideband Sparse Array Imaging Radar

2005
The experimental data presented above indicate that forward looking vehicle mounted impulse radar systems using broad beamed antennas are susceptible to clutter which in some situations arises predominantly from scatterers outside the area of interest for target detection.
