Programmable ultra-wideband coded signal generator

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 2012
A novel programmable ultra-wideband coded signal generator based on digital integrated circuits is designed. The bipolar impulse can be generated by a transformer without any analogue circuit. A pseudorandom code is used to modulate the monocycle impulse by the time modulation (TM) scheme.

Low-Complexity Joint Angle of Arrival and Time of Arrival Estimation of Multipath Signal in UWB System

open access: yesSensors, 2023
In an ultra-wideband (UWB) system, the two-dimensional (2D) multiple signal classification (MUSIC) algorithms based on high-precision 2D spectral peak search can jointly estimate the time of arrival (TOA) and angle of arrival (AOA).

Mathematical modeling of ultra wideband in vivo radio channel [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
This paper proposes a novel mathematical model for an in vivo radio channel at ultra-wideband frequencies (3.1–10.6 GHz), which can be used as a reference model for in vivo channel response without performing intensive experiments or simulations.

Experimental evaluation of UWB indoor positioning for indoor track cycling [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Accurate radio frequency (RF)-based indoor localization systems are more and more applied during sports. The most accurate RF-based localization systems use ultra-wideband (UWB) technology; this is why this technology is the most prevalent.

Characterisation of an aperture-stacked patch antenna for ultra-wideband wearable radio systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
This paper presents, for the first time, the time-domain characteristics of an aperture-stacked patch antenna (ASPA) for ultra-wideband (UWB) wearable devices. The methodology of antennas characterization for UWB radio systems is also outlined.

Target Localization and Tracking Using an Ultra-Wideband Chaotic Radar With Wireless Synchronization Command

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2021
An ultra-wideband chaotic radar with wireless synchronization command is proposed and experimentally demonstrated for target localization and tracking. This radar uses the wideband chaotic pulse position modulation (CPPM) signal as the probe signal and ...

A time difference of arrival/angle of arrival fusion algorithm with steepest descent algorithm for indoor non-line-of-sight locationing

open access: yesInternational Journal of Distributed Sensor Networks, 2019
In complex indoor propagation environment, the non-line-of-sight error caused by various obstacles brings great error to node positioning. Choosing the appropriate signal transmission methods is important to improve node indoor positioning accuracy.
