Electronic sector scanning for ultrasonic diagnosis

Ultrasonics, 1968
Abstract The mechanical B-scan used in medical diagnosis has the main disadvantage that it does not provide instantaneous and continuous pictures as the A-scan does in the one-dimensional case. In this paper is described the development of an electronic sector scanning equipment especially for medical purposes.

Liver volume determination by ultrasonic scanning

The British Journal of Radiology, 1972
Abstract A new principle used for determining liver volume by means of ultrasonic scanning is described. Based upon a single transverse and a series of longitudinal scanning sections through the liver a model of the organ is defined. The outline of the liver in each scanning section is registered by means of an electronic Pencilfollower D-Mac Co. Ltd.,

Ultrasonic b‐scanning in Rhesus incompatibility

Journal of Clinical Ultrasound, 1974
AbstractThree patients are presented with pregnancies complicated by Rhesus incompatibility. The presence of fetal ascites in hydrops fetalis is demonstrated with ultrasonic B‐scanning and compared with conventional radiographs. The value of localizing the placenta and estimating its volume is discussed.

Pregnancy Diagnosis in Ewes by Ultrasonic Scanning

Journal of Animal Science, 1976
Ultrasonic scanning was performed on 280 ewes to determine the accuracy of pregnancy diagnosis using this technique. The study consisted of 3 phases: 1) detection of pregnancy by use of scans at various locations on the abdomen in relation to fetal age 2) assessment of accuracy of detection of single and multiple fetuses by use of a single scan and 3)
