Ultrasonic atomization of the DNA solution for atomic force microscopy

Journal of Vacuum Science & Technology B: Microelectronics and Nanometer Structures Processing, Measurement, and Phenomena, 1995
We have investigated the ultrasonic atomization of the deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) solution as a simple preparation technique to image circular DNA molecules with the atomic force microscope. The DNA solution with a relatively high concentration (∼25 μg/ml) is ultrasonically atomized at the exciting frequency of 2.4 MHz.

Ultrasonic Atomization of Liquids

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1962
An experimental study was made of the mechanism by which the ultrasonic vibration of liquid surfaces causes atomization. At exciting frequencies in the range of 10 to 800 kc, uniform patterns of crossed capillary waves were found on the liquid surface when atomization occurred.

Ultrasonic Atomization Amount for Different Frequencies

Japanese Journal of Applied Physics, 2011
The mass flow rate of ultrasonic atomization was estimated by measuring the vaporization amount from a bulk liquid with a fountain. The effects of ultrasonic frequency and intensity on the atomization characteristics were investigated when the directivities of the acoustic field from a transducer were almost the same.

Production of SAC305 powder by ultrasonic atomization

Powder Technology, 2011
Ultrasonic atomization has been used for the production of high quality powders for soldering and soldering pastes. This research is to study the production of SAC305 powder employing an ultrasonic atomizer. Effects of operating parameters: melt temperature, melt feed rate, amplitude of acoustic wave and oxygen content in the atomizing vessel, on the ...

Design and Atomization Experiments of an Ultrasonic Atomizer with a Levitation Mechanism

Applied Engineering in Agriculture, 2016
According to Lang equation, the diameter of droplet generated by an ultrasonic atomizer is inversely proportional to the ultrasonic drive frequency to the two-thirds power. In an ultrasonic aeroponic cultivation system, nutrient solution droplet sizes influence plant growth speed directly.

Ultrasonic Atomic Force Microscopy UAFM

2012
A version of scanning probe acoustic technique was developed as ultrasonic atomic force microscopy (UAFM), where higher order mode cantilever vibration is excited at its base (support). It enables precise imaging of both topography and elasticity of stiff samples such as metals and ceramics, without a need for bonding a transducer to the sample.

A small ultrasonic atomizer for liquid fuels

Ultrasonics, 1969
Abstract This paper describes a small ultrasonic atomizer system that has been developed for the combustion of liquid fuels in a burner with a thermal output of 20,000Btu/h. The technique of ultrasonic atomization offers significant advantages over conventional methods since it requires no high-pressure pump and it operates well with a variety of ...
