Fatigue lifetime of AlBC(3) alloy by ultrasonic fatigue testing machine in cavitation regime

open access: yesThe Journal of Engineering, 2015
In this study, the influence of ultrasonic nanocrystalline surface modification (UNSM) technique on the cavitation fatigue properties of AlBC(3) alloy was investigated.

Fatigue deformation of 1050 aluminum in ultrasonic fatigue testing.

open access: yesJournal of Japan Institute of Light Metals, 1995
Ultrasonic fatigue tests have been performed on commercial 1050 aluminum. Internal friction (Q-1) has been measured during fatigue tests and as a function of strain amplitude (e). It is shown that more than 109 cycles test is necessary in order to determine the fatigue limit. Q-1 versus e curves have the inflection points at particular strain amplitude

Experimental methodology of study of damage initiation and development in textile composites in uniaxial tensile test [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Damage in textile composites is closely connected with the internal micro- and meso-geometry of the reinforcement, and reveals features, which are not present in the damage processes in classical laminates. This paper proposes a test sequence intended to

Study on ultrasonic evaluation of connection state and service performance of resistance projection welding joints

open access: yesDiscover Applied Sciences
Fatigue failure of welded joints is a performance factor of structural parts under dynamic load, and the effective evaluation of its life is always the key to the service ability of structures.

ULTRASONIC ATTENUATION IN STEELS DURING FATIGUE [PDF]

open access: yesLe Journal de Physique Colloques, 1985
The change of ultrasonic attenuation Ɗα as a function of fatigue cycle number n correlates well with the length of fatigue crack. A depinning model of dislocations with kinks is suggested to interpret the experimental results.

Ultrasonic needles for bone biopsy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Bone biopsy is an invasive clinical procedure where a bone sample is recovered for analysis during the diagnosis of a medical condition. When the architecture of the bone tissue is required to be preserved, a core-needle biopsy is taken.

Experimental and numerical polar scans of several anisotropic materials using pulsed and harmonic ultrasonic beams [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Ultrasonic non-destructive testing is a well known technique in present days, in which the C-scan is the most wide spread. Though, because of the inherent limitations of most methods to quantitatively characterize (damaged) composite materials, the quest

Measurement of interface pressure in interference fits [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
When components such as bearings or gears are pressed onto a shaft, the resulting interference induces a pressure at the interface. The size of this pressure is important as many components fail because fatigue initiates from press-fit stress ...

ULTRASONIC ATTENUATION IN STEEL DURING FATIGUE

open access: yesActa Physica Sinica, 1985
The fatigue crack length a and the changes of ultrasonic attenuation △α at frequency 10 MHz 011 compact test sample of 30CrMnSiNi2A steel have been simutane-uosly measured as a function of fatigue cycle number N. It was shown that the △α(N) curve was in good response to the a(N) curve and the △α was traced out during the period of crack nucleation. The

Multi-Objective Optimization of the Ultrasonic Scalpel Rod and Tip with Improved Performance: Vibration Frequency, Amplitude, and Service Life

open access: yesChinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering
Ultrasonic scalpel design for minimally invasive surgical procedures is mainly focused on optimizing cutting performance. However, an important issue is the low fatigue life of traditional ultrasonic scalpels, which affects their long-term reliability ...
