Ultrasonic fatigue testing of concrete

open access: hybridUltrasonics, 2021
Cyclic compression fatigue properties of concrete are studied with the ultrasonic fatigue testing method with cycling frequency 19 kHz and are compared to servo-hydraulic tests performed at 60 Hz. Ultrasonic testing was found applicable for rapid generation of very high cycle fatigue (VHCF) data of concrete.

Design Theory and Experimental Research of Ultrasonic Fatigue Test [PDF]

open access: goldMachines, 2022
Ultrasonic fatigue testing is a key technology that is more efficient and energy saving compared to conventional fatigue testing. In order to investigate the behavior of metallic materials at ultra-high frequencies and to verify the validity of ...

Ultrasonic Fatigue Testing in the Tension-Compression Mode [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Visualized Experiments, 2018
Ultrasonic fatigue testing is one of a few methods which allow investigating fatigue properties in the ultra-high cycle region. The method is based on exposing the specimen to longitudinal vibrations on its resonance frequency close to 20 kHz. With use of this method, it is possible to significantly decrease the time required for the test, when ...

Ultrasonic fatigue testing device under biaxial bending [PDF]

open access: yesFracture and Structural Integrity, 2016
A new fatigue testing device has been developed to test specimens under biaxial loading at 20 kHz. A flat smooth specimen with a disc geometry is placed on a torus frame and cyclically loaded at the center of its upper face.

Ultrasonic fatigue tests on maraging 300 steel: Under solution annealed, after aging heat treatment and under pre-corrosion attack

open access: goldForces in Mechanics
Ultrasonic fatigue tests were carried out under continuous cycling on the maraging 300 steel for the following conditions: (A) solution annealed (as received from supplier), (B) after aging heat treatment of 490 °C for 6 h, (C) after pre-corrosion attack,

Ultrasonic Resonance Fatigue Testing of 6082 Aluminum Alloy

open access: yesMetals
This study explores the fatigue properties of EN AW-6082-T6 aluminum alloy in the gigacycle range (106–109 cycles), using ultrasonic resonance fatigue testing at 20 kHz in a push–pull mode with a symmetric load cycle (R = −1).

Fatigue Tests of Metals at Ultrasonic Frequency

open access: diamondBulletin of JSME, 1959
A testing equipment and measurements are reported of the fatigue of metals under supersonic frequency. This equipment has an advantage over conventional fatigue machines that stress alternations up to 108 reversals can be made within an hour or so. At the resonant condition, metal samples are subjected to alternating stresses above the fatigue limit by
