The Electromagnetic Ultrasonic Guided Wave Testing
2016As an important branch of the nondestructive testing field, ultrasonic testing is widely used in the steel, electric power, petroleum, transportation, and medical and other industries. In the process of ultrasonic testing, the ultrasonic transducer is the core component of excitation and reception of ultrasonic waves, mainly including the piezoelectric

Guided Wave Electromagnetic Ultrasonic Tomography
2019The defect of the aluminum plate concerned in this chapter is mainly the plate thickness loss-type defect caused by corrosion, and the plate thickness change caused by such defects is relatively flat. When Lamb waves encounter such defects, the amplitudes of other modal waves generated by modal transformation are relatively small.

Ultrasonics Guided Waves for Piping Inspection
1997An ultrasonic guided wave system for pipe inspection is proposed. Using guided wave experience to date on a variety of different tubing problems, feasibility experiments have already been conducted on piping under insulation in both a laboratory and chemical processing facility field environment. Several guided wave techniques are introduced, one using

Ultrasonic guided interface waves at a soft-stiff boundary
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2013Interface waves traveling along the boundary between two solids have been studied for nearly a century. However, little attention has been given to the case where interface waves travel at the boundary between a soft and stiff solid and when the soft material is relatively light and viscoelastic.

Non-contact ultrasonic guided wave inspections of rails
SPIE Proceedings, 2014The University of California at San Diego (UCSD), under a Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) Office of Research and Development (R&D) grant, is developing a system for high-speed and non-contact rail integrity evaluation. A prototype using an ultrasonic air-coupled guided wave signal generation and air-coupled signal detection in pair with a real ...

Ultrasonic Guided Waves in Solid Media
2014Ultrasonic guided waves in solid media have become a critically important subject in nondestructive testing and structural health monitoring, as new faster, more sensitive, and more economical ways of looking at materials and structures have become possible. This book will lead to fresh creative ideas for use in new inspection procedures.

Quantum Analogous Spin States of Ultrasonic Guided Waves
UltrasonicsIn quantum mechanics, spin is a physical property that dominates the topological behaviors. While manifesting the spin states they reveal complex interaction of physical parameters in a topological media. The guided waves' inherent spin states are made of real physical spin angular momentum from the superposition of elastic waves.

SH ultrasonic guided waves for the evaluation of interfacial adhesion
Ultrasonics, 2014Shear-Horizontally (SH) polarized, ultrasonic, guided wave modes are considered in order to infer changes in the adhesive properties at several interfaces located within an adhesive bond joining two metallic plates. Specific aluminium lap-joint samples were produced, with different adhesive properties at up to four interfaces when a glass-epoxy film is
