Miniature Soft Robot With Magnetically Reprogrammable Surgical Functions
Miniature soft robots have great prospects to revolutionize minimally invasive treatments. Here we present a miniature soft robot, which can be reprogrammed to perform five surgical functionalities with six‐degrees‐of‐freedom motions. This soft robot can prospectively make minimally invasive surgery considerably safer and painless, and enable ...

Design of a Longitudinal-Bending Elliptical Vibration Ultrasonic Transducer with a Bent Horn
The thin and straight horn of the ultrasonic transducer is located in the center of the thick transducer, so that the tool tip of the ultrasonic vibration turning tool holder cannot be located on the outermost side of the entire tool holder, which leads ...

Effects of Ultrasonic Vibrations on Nerve Tissues.
SummaryThe excised crayfish ventral nerve cord exposed to ultrasound (35 watts/ cm2, frequency 1 mc) exhibited a reduction of spontaneous activity after several seconds exposure and recovered its original activity about one minute after the ultrasound was turned off. Frogs positioned so that ultrasound was incident on the dorsal surface over the lumbar

A Geometrically Transient Platform for Bioelectronic Implants
Minimally invasive bioelectronic implants often compromise performance for smaller sizes. To resolve this optimization dilemma, a wireless bioelectronic implant with a transient geometry is introduced (MiFi). The origami‐inspired device miniaturizes up to sixfold for syringe insertion and autonomously unfolds post‐implantation.

Transdermal delivery of insulin by ultrasonic vibration
Abstract Ultrasonic vibration has been used to deliver insulin through the skin of hairless mice fasted overnight and partially immersed in an aqueous solution of insulin (20 units mL−1). The skin surface was exposed to ultrasonic vibration in two ultrasonic energy ranges (3000–5000 Pa and 5000–8000 Pa) at 48 kHz for 5 min. Blood glucose

Field‐programmed anisotropy imparts material‐level intelligence to soft composites. Magnetic torque dynamics drive magneto‐piezoelectric nanowires from random dispersion into deterministic axial alignment. The resulting hierarchical percolation networks confine electromechanical coupling to specific axes and intrinsically decouple superposed force ...
