DETECTION OF PROXIMAL-VEIN THROMBOSIS BY DOPPLER ULTRASOUND FLOW-DETECTION METHOD
Obstetrical & Gynecological Survey, 1972Abstract Fifty patients with chronic swollen legs were investigated by the transcutaneous Doppler ultrasound flow-detection method and iliac phlebography. Thrombosis of the iliofemoral segment can be readily diagnosed by the alterations of audible sounds or flow velocity patterns recorded over the common femoral vein.

New emboli detection methods [Doppler ultrasound]
1997 IEEE Ultrasonics Symposium Proceedings. An International Symposium (Cat. No.97CH36118), 2002Particle aggregates carried by the blood flow can lead to serious pathologies. To anticipate vascular cerebral accidents, it is important to be able to detect the smallest possible size. The classical detection is based on the Fourier analysis with its known limitations.

Ultrasound Doppler method of remote elastometry
Acoustical Physics, 2015The paper presents the theoretical relations constituting the basis of remote measurements of the shear elasticity of biological tissues using the ultrasound Doppler method. It also describes the hardware-software setup implementing this approach, as well as the results of experiments with these tools on a biological tissue phantom and on human liver ...

A Transverse Velocity Spectral Estimation Method for Ultrafast Ultrasound Doppler Imaging
IEEE Transactions on Ultrasonics, Ferroelectrics, and Frequency Control, 2023A novel transverse velocity spectral estimation method is proposed to estimate the velocity component in the direction transverse to the beam axis for ultrafast imaging. The transverse oscillation was introduced by filtering the envelope data after the axial oscillation was removed. The complex transverse oscillated signal was then used to estimate the

A Comparison Method for Mean Frequency Estimators for Doppler Ultrasound
Ultrasonic Imaging, 1992Mean frequency estimators as used in pulsed Doppler ultrasound equipment should provide an accurate (quality) and consistent (robustness) estimate over a wide range of signal conditions. In a simplified signal model, the main parameters to consider are the noise level, mean frequency, bandwidth and power of both the Doppler signal and the stationary ...

Fractal concept and its analysis method for doppler ultrasound signals
Ultrasound in Medicine & Biology, 1993Abstract A method to obtain the fractal dimension of Doppler ultrasound signals is described, and its application to the analysis of simulated and real Doppler signals is demonstrated.

Vascular Doppler ultrasound: Methods, opportunities, data processing, problems
2017 International Multi-Conference on Engineering, Computer and Information Sciences (SIBIRCON), 2017The basic principles of an Doppler ultrasound of the blood-vascular system are described. The methods possibilities and restrictions are considered. The main quantitative indices and their practical importance are discussed.

Velocity profile measurement by ultrasound Doppler shift method
International Journal of Heat and Fluid Flow, 1986Abstract The application of an external blood flowmeter, an ultrasonic Doppler shift detection device, to the one-dimensional velocity profile measurement of the general flow of water was studied. Experiments were carried out for Poiseuille flow in a 12 mm diameter pipe and for Taylor vortex flow in a roating double cylinder with a 5 mm gap. Measured

Turbulence measurements with pulsed doppler ultrasound employing a frequency tracking method
Ultrasound in Medicine & Biology, 1982A phase lock loop method of tracking doppler ultrasound frequencies is applied to the measurement of turbulent velocities. A pulsed Doppler ultrasound system capable of detecting two velocity components was employed to resolve axial and radial velocity components at the centerline of turbulent pipe flows and distal to stenoses in pulsatile flow ...
