Digital audio tape as a method of storing Doppler ultrasound signals
Physiological Measurement, 1993Digital audio tape recorders perform significantly better than conventional tape recorders in respect of their frequency response, dynamic range, signal-to-noise ratio, and wow and flutter figures. They also have advantages in terms of their tape size and playing time, and their ability to record additional information as 'sub-codes'.

A New Method for Fixation of Probes for Transcranial Doppler Ultrasound
Journal of Neuroimaging, 1997Although monitoring of blood velocity in the cerebral arteries with transcranial Doppler ultrasound is standard practice, methods for fixation of the ultrasound probe to the skull continue to impose a technical challenge. This report describes a novel method of probe fixation in which an inexpensive polymer block is custom–made for each patient to hold

[Procedures in color Doppler ultrasound--comparison of methods].
Ultraschall in der Medizin (Stuttgart, Germany : 1980), 1994Various colour flow imaging techniques for diagnostic ultrasound have been reported in the literature, each claiming distinctive performance characteristics for the benefit of the user. The following is a review of the principles of autocorrelation, autoregression (or maximum entropy), and of cross-correlation methods. All three approaches are based on

Doppler ultrasound method and apparatus for monitoring blood flow
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2004A pulse Doppler ultrasound system and associated methods are described for monitoring blood flow. A graphical information display includes simultaneously displayed depth-mode and spectrogram displays. The depth-mode display indicates the various positions along the ultrasound beam axis at which blood flow is detected.

System and method for post-processing ultrasound color doppler imaging
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2004A system for ultrasonic imaging that includes a comparator for comparing at least one Doppler parameter input to a threshold value and generating a first mask. The comparator has a threshold value associated with each Doppler parameter input. A spatial filter is coupled to the comparator and produces a second mask, and a classification operator is ...

Method and system for ultrasound enhanced-resolution spectral doppler
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2002A method and system for generating data for a spectral Doppler strip in an ultrasound system includes a beamformer that provides Doppler data to a signal processor. The signal processor applies an autoregressive model and determines autoregressive parameters responsive to the Doppler data.

Ultrasound pulse Doppler method as a viscometer for process monitoring
Flow Measurement and Instrumentation, 1999Abstract In this study the ultrasound–pulse–Doppler method, used to measure velocity profiles, is utilized in a way in which it could be used as a method for quality control. Since slip effects are automatically accounted for, one instrument suffices to obtain the relevant flow curve.

Doppler and ultrasound methods for diagnosis.
Seminars in nephrology, 2001With the availability of ultrasonic duplex scanning we now have a method of safely screening those patients who may be thought to have renal artery stenosis as the basis for hypertension or renal failure. Modern instrumentation combined with an experienced technologist makes this a reasonable and accurate screening test.

Wrist ultrasound - the model method for grey-scale and power Doppler scoring
Annals of the Rheumatic Diseases, 2019The use of ultrasound (US) has been at the forefront of aiding diagnosis of inflammatory arthritis since its introduction. More recently, US imaging in patients with clinical remission appears to provide prognostic information with respect to disease flares and progression.1 2 Ultrasonographic scoring typically uses a semiquantitative scale of 0–3 for ...
