Observations of the Ultraviolet Spectra of Carbon White Dwarfs [PDF]
Strong ultraviolet carbon lines were detected in additional white DC (continuous visual spectra) dwarfs using the IUE. These lines are not seen in the ultraviolet spectrum of the cool DC star Stein 2051 B.

Ultraviolet sensitivity of rare decays in nonuniversal extra dimensional models
We consider a nonuniversal five dimensional model in which fermions are localised on a four dimensional brane, while gauge bosons and a scalar doublet can travel in the bulk.

SNUPN‐Related Muscular Dystrophy: Novel Phenotypic, Pathological and Functional Protein Insights
ABSTRACT Objective SNUPN‐related muscular dystrophy or LGMDR29 is a new entity that covers from a congenital or childhood onset pure muscular dystrophy to more complex phenotypes combining neurodevelopmental features, cataracts, or spinocerebellar ataxia. So far, 12 different variants have been described.

ABSTRACT Background Apolipoprotein ε4 (APOE ε4) is a potent genetic risk factor for Alzheimer's disease (AD). However, its role in cerebral small vessel disease (CSVD) remains unclear. Given the clinical and pathological similarities between CSVD and AD, this study aimed to investigate the associations of APOE ε4 gene dosage with cognitive function and

Renormalization in Quantum Mechanics
We implement the concept of Wilson renormalization in the context of simple quantum mechanical systems. The attractive inverse square potential leads to a $\b$ function with a nontrivial ultraviolet stable fixed point and the Hulthen potential exhibits ...

ABSTRACT Chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyradiculoneuropathy (CIDP) is an immune‐mediated neuropathy featuring progressive weakness, sensory deficits, and areflexia. While corticosteroids, intravenous immunoglobulin, and plasmapheresis are effective first‐line immunotherapies, a subset of patients remains treatment‐refractory.

Changes in Lesional and Non-lesional Skin Microbiome During Treatment of Atopic Dermatitis
The aim of this study was to evaluate changes in the skin surface microbiome in patients with atopic dermatitis during treatment. The effect of narrowband ultraviolet B phototherapy was also studied to determine the influence of exposure to ultraviolet ...
