ULTRAVIOLET RAYS FOR FINGER PRINTING
JAMA: The Journal of the American Medical Association, 1927To the Editor: —Having observed the rapidity with which the soluble silver salts become decolorized in the presence of organic fatty acids under the action of the middle chain of ultraviolet rays, I wondered whether or not it could be used as a rapid method of finger-printing.

Ultraviolet and X-Ray Spectroscopy
1998The higher the energy of the electromagnetic radiation the deeper we can look into the atoms and into the band structure of solids. Thus, for ultraviolet radiation and x rays a new area opens up for spectroscopic investigations. It becomes possible to analyze the structure of the valence band and of lower bands down to the core levels.

ULTRAVIOLET RAY THERAPY IN DERMATOLOGY
Archives of Dermatology, 1924Twenty-seven years have elapsed since Finsen introduced ultraviolet ray therapy in the treatment of lupus vulgaris and other cutaneous affections. It would seem reasonable to believe that in view of the many experiments since that time in the application of these rays by numerous apparently qualified observers, there would be a reasonable unanimity of ...

PITYRIASIS VERSICOLOR AND ULTRAVIOLET RAYS
Archives of Dermatology and Syphilology, 1927The changing conditions of life bring about corresponding changes in the development of pathologic and physiologic processes. The period of starvation in the United States of Soviet Russia from 1918 to 1920 is a typical instance. There was a complete disappearance of disturbances of metabolism, gout and excessive obesity, and an increase in scurvy and
