In this paper we study the pairs of orthogonal foliations on oriented surfaces immersed in R3 whose singularities and leaves are, respectively, the umbilic points and the lines of normal mean curvature of the immersion.

Coagulative granular hydrogels are composed of packed thrombin‐functionalized microgels that catalyze the conversion of fibrinogen into a secondary fibrin network, filling the interstitial voids. This bio‐inspired approach stabilizes the biomaterial to match the robustness of bulk hydrogels without compromising injectability, mimicking the initial ...

Decellularized Extracellular Matrix (dECM) in Tendon Regeneration: A Comprehensive Review
Decellularized Extracellular Matrix (dECM) offers a promising solution by replicating the native tendon microenvironment and promoting regeneration. This review highlights advances in the decellularization methods, as well as their integration with emerging technologies and translational progress in tendon tissue engineering.

On the intensity of focused waves near turning points
A wave near an isolated turning point is typically assumed to have an Airy function profile with respect to the separation distance. This description is incomplete, however, and is insufficient to describe the behavior of more realistic wavefields that ...

ABSTRACT In vitro arterial models offer ethical and robust alternatives for vascular research but require cytocompatible materials that replicate physiological mechanics. Poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) hydrogels produced by directional freezing and salting‐out (PVA DFSO) are anisotropic yet lack stability for cell culture. Herein, methacrylated PVA (PVA‐MA)

Partially Umbilic Points in One-parameter Families of Hypersurfaces Immersed in R^4.
Neste trabalho, estudamos as Singularidades das folheações mutuamente ortogonais, numa variedade orientada M^3 de dimensão 3, cujas folhas são as curvas integrais dos campos de direções de curvatura principal associadas a uma imersão : M^3 R^4.

Critical and umbilical points of a non-Gaussian random field
Random fields in nature often have, to a good approximation, Gaussian characteristics. For such fields, the number of maxima and minima are the same. Furthermore, the relative densities of umbilical points, topological defects which can be classified into three types, have certain fixed values.

Microfluidic coaxial extrusion generates size‐controlled 3D lymphatic tubes from primary human dermal lymphatic endothelial cells in a defined four‐component matrix. These engineered vessels self‐organize into stable lymphatic endothelium, maintain selective macromolecular permeability for 30 days, and enable direct comparison with blood endothelial ...
