Elliptic equations with discontinuous coefficients in unbounded domains of R^2

open access: yesLe Matematiche, 1996
In this paper we are concerned with second order elliptic equations in unbounded domains Ω of R^2 . We establish existence and uniqueness theorems under the assumptions that the leading coefficients are bounded and measurable in Ω and satisfy a suitable ...

Elliptic Operators with Unbounded Coefficients

open access: yes, 2017
Aim of this manuscript is to give generation results and some Hardy inequalities concerning elliptic operators with unbounded coefficients of the form Au = div(aDu) + F ·Du + V u where V is a real valued function, a(x) = (akl(x)) is symmetric and satisfies the ellipticity condition and a and F grow to infinity.

A Unifying Thermodynamic Model for Phase Separation and Aging of Biopolymers

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Phase separation and aging of intrinsically disordered proteins are placed in a unifying framework. A thermodynamically consistent time‐dependent version of associating‐polymer theory shows how the processes are intricately coupled. Assuming aging to occur through interacting sites resulting from reversible conformational transitions, the model ...

Cancer‐Associated BCL‐2 Mutants Reveal Mechanisms Towards Venetoclax Resistance

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Venetoclax (VEN) resistance in chronic lymphocytic leukemia arises from diverse BCL2 mutations. We map mechanisms contributing to VEN resistance across common BCL‐2 variants. G101V and D103Y reduce drug binding and increase sequestration of pro‐apoptotic proteins. V156D blocks VEN allosterically.

The Cauchy-Dirichlet Problem for a Class of Linear Parabolic Differential Equations with Unbounded Coefficients in an Unbounded Domain

open access: yes, 2011
We consider the Cauchy-Dirichlet problem in [0,∞)×D for a class of linear parabolic partial differential equations. We assume that D⊂ℝd is an unbounded, open, connected set with regular boundary.

Probing Electrocatalyst Design for Product Selectivity in CO2 Reduction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Selective CO2 electroreduction is controlled by catalyst structure, dynamic surface reconstruction, adsorbate interactions, and reaction microenvironment. This review summarizes Cu‐ and non‐Cu‐based catalysts, single‐atom and molecular systems, degradation pathways, and operando/computational strategies for steering CO2RR toward hydrocarbons ...

Unbounded-time analysis of guarded LTI systems with inputs by abstract acceleration

open access: yes, 2015
Linear Time Invariant (LTI) systems are ubiquitous in software systems and control applications. Unbounded-time reachability analysis that can cope with industrial-scale models with thousands of variables is needed. To tackle this general problem, we use

Oscillation Criteria for Third-Order Emden–Fowler Differential Equations with Unbounded Neutral Coefficients

open access: yesComplexity, 2019
New sufficient conditions for the oscillation of all solutions to a class of third-order Emden–Fowler differential equations with unbounded neutral coefficients are established. The criteria obtained essentially improve related results in the literature.

Phragmèn-Lindelöf principles for fully nonlinear elliptic equations with unbounded coefficients

open access: yes, 2010
We investigate Phragmèn-Lindelöf principles for viscosity solutions of fully nonlinear elliptic equations with possibly unbounded ...

Chromatin Packing Domain Engineering Through the Manipulation of Nuclear Cationic States

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Manipulation of intranuclear divalent cation concentrations rapidly and reversibly remodels chromatin packing domains in living cells. Magnesium depletion disrupts domain compaction, heterochromatin organization, and transcriptional regulation, whereas magnesium loading promotes more compact and stable domains.
