Research on the Factors Influencing Tourism Revenue of Shandong Province in China Based on Uncertain Regression Analysis

open access: yesMathematics, 2023
According to the analysis of historical tourism data, it was found that tourism revenue is influenced by multiple factors, and there exists a linear relationship between these factors and tourism revenue. Therefore, this paper employs a linear regression

Design with uncertain qualitative variables under imperfect knowledge [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part B: Journal of Engineering Manufacture, 2004
To support early design and design under risk, it is necessary to have methodologies to process the various forms of uncertainties. Three independent dimensions of uncertainty are identified in the paper as certainty of analysis (epistemic uncertainty), random variability (stochastic variability and design indecision) and type of variable. The type of

Metastasis on pause: How dormant tumor cells stay hidden within the tumor microenvironment and evade immune surveillance

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dormant cancer cells can hide in distant organs for years, evading treatment and the immune system. This review highlights how signals from the surrounding tissue and immune environment keep these cells inactive or trigger their reawakening. Understanding these mechanisms may help develop therapies to eliminate or control dormant cells and prevent ...

Sampled-Data $H_\infty$ Fuzzy Observer for Uncertain Oscillating Systems With Immeasurable Premise Variables

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2018
This paper proposes a sampled-data H∞ fuzzy observer technique for nonlinear uncertain oscillating systems that are represented by the Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy model.

A light‐triggered Time‐Resolved X‐ray Solution Scattering (TR‐XSS) workflow with application to protein conformational dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering captures how proteins change shape in real time under near‐native conditions. This article presents a practical workflow for light‐triggered TR‐XSS experiments, from data collection to structural refinement. Using a calcium‐transporting membrane protein as an example, the approach can be broadly applied to study ...

Analyzing Uncertainty in Complex Socio-Ecological Networks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Socio-ecological systems are recognized as complex adaptive systems whose multiple interactions might change as a response to external or internal changes. Due to its complexity, the behavior of the system is often uncertain.

Single Parameter Entropy of Uncertain Variables

open access: yesApplied Mathematics, 2012
Uncertainty theory is a new branch of axiomatic mathematics for studying the subjective uncertainty. In uncertain theory, uncertain variable is a fundamental concept, which is used to represent imprecise quantities (unknown constants and unsharp concepts).

Why human connection is the true metric of research success

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Human‐centred mentorship can be shaped by mentor attributes, actions, intrinsic drive and career ambition. Drawing on reflections across Singapore and France, as well as workshop insights from FEBS‐IUBMB ENABLE 2024, this article shows that human‐centred mentorship creates the conditions for sustainable growth, well‐being and retention in research ...

YIPFα1A expression is regulated by multilayered molecular mechanisms

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
YIPFα1A, a five‐pass Golgi protein, is regulated at multiple layers. (1) Rare‐codon enrichment drives translation‐coupled mRNA decay. (2) A proximal 3′‐UTR element stabilizes mRNA. (3) A distal 3′‐UTR element included by alternate poly(A) site usage represses translation, which can be overridden by the proximal 3′‐UTR element.

On the Convergence of Numerical Series of Uncertain Variables

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
In this paper, within the framework of uncertainty theory, two kinds of concepts about uncertain numerical series and uncertain positive numerical series are introduced.
