The impact of direct and indirect digital soil mapping approaches on spatial uncertainty

open access: yesGeoderma
While numerous studies have compared different mapping approaches (or inference trajectories) in digital soil mapping (DSM), their impact on uncertainty quantification and propagation has received less attention.

Design and analysis strategies for robust microbiome ageing research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The gut microbiome changes with age and associates with age‐related morbidity and mortality, establishing it as a potential biomarker and intervention target for ageing. Realising this potential requires methodological rigour, yet distinguishing biological signals from methodological artefacts remains challenging across cohorts. This review provides an

Integrating uncertainty propagation in GNSS radio occultation retrieval: from excess phase to atmospheric bending angle profiles [PDF]

open access: yesAtmospheric Measurement Techniques, 2018
Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) radio occultation (RO) observations are highly accurate, long-term stable data sets and are globally available as a continuous record from 2001.

Interpreting the effects of DNA polymerase variants at the structural level

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using MAVISp and molecular dynamics simulations, we analyzed over 60 000 missense variants in POLE and POLD1 from ClinVar, COSMIC, cBioPortal, and saturation mutagenesis. Identified mechanistic indicators, including stability, binding, and long‐range, enable structural interpretation, providing ACMG‐like evidence for possible reclassification of VUS ...

UNCERTAINTY PROPAGATION FOR TERRESTRIAL MOBILE LASER SCANNER [PDF]

open access: yesThe International Archives of the Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Spatial Information Sciences, 2016
Laser scanners are used more and more in mobile mapping systems. They provide 3D point clouds that are used for object reconstruction and registration of the system.

Orbital Uncertainty Propagation Based on Adaptive Gaussian Mixture Model under Generalized Equinoctial Orbital Elements

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2023
The number of resident space objects (RSOs) has been steadily increasing over time, posing significant risks to the safe operation of on-orbit assets. The accurate prediction of potential collision events and implementation of effective and nonredundant ...

YIPFα1A expression is regulated by multilayered molecular mechanisms

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
YIPFα1A, a five‐pass Golgi protein, is regulated at multiple layers. (1) Rare‐codon enrichment drives translation‐coupled mRNA decay. (2) A proximal 3′‐UTR element stabilizes mRNA. (3) A distal 3′‐UTR element included by alternate poly(A) site usage represses translation, which can be overridden by the proximal 3′‐UTR element.

Uncertainty Estimation for Quantitative Agarose Gel Electrophoresis of Nucleic Acids

open access: yesSensors, 2023
This paper considers the evaluation of uncertainty of quantitative gel electrophoresis. To date, such uncertainty estimation presented in the literature are based on the multiple measurements performed for assessing the intra- and interlaboratory ...

Paramagnetic Rim Lesions Are Associated With Trans‐Synaptic Degeneration of the Visual Pathway in Multiple Sclerosis

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives Retrograde trans‐synaptic degeneration (rTSD) from posterior visual pathway lesions in multiple sclerosis (MS) is characterized by hemi‐macular ganglion cell‐inner plexiform layer (GCIPL) thinning and contralateral visual field loss.

Interaction of Intraprocedural Antiplatelets and Intravenous Thrombolysis in Acute Intracranial Stenting: RESISTANT Registry Subanalysis

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction/Objective Acute intracranial stenting during endovascular thrombectomy (EVT) for ischemic stroke requires intraprocedural antiplatelet therapy (APT) to maintain patency. However, the hemorrhagic risk of combining APT with intravenous thrombolysis (IVT) remains uncertain.
