Development and Release of the Munich UICC Staging Tool (MUST): Advancing UICC Staging in Real‐World Data With Insights From Pancreatic and Stomach Cancer

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cancer, EarlyView.
Accurate cancer staging is essential for cancer research and treatment evaluation. However, real‐world data often include incomplete or inconsistent UICC staging classifications. The presented Munich UICC Staging Tool (MUST) automates UICC stage derivation from TNM classifications and tumor characteristics, incorporating novel real‐world data rules to ...

Ginseng polysaccharides prevent mastitis through Lactobacillus murinus‐derived deoxycholic acid and TGR5 signaling

open access: yesiMetaOmics, EarlyView.
Prebiotic Ginseng polysaccharides (GP) alleviate mastitis through selective enrichment of gut L. murinus, which elevates its anti‐inflammatory metabolite deoxycholic acid (DCA). Circulating DCA engages mammary epithelial TGR5 receptors, triggering the cAMP–PKA pathway to suppress NF‐κB/NLRP3‐mediated inflammation.

Two stable gut microbiome guilds predict liver tumor class and treatment responses

open access: yesiMeta, EarlyView.
Gut microbiome alterations are linked to hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), yet taxon‐based biomarkers often lack reproducibility. Using shotgun metagenomics from 120 resectable HCC (MT) and 76 benign hepatic tumor controls (BT), we reconstructed a stable interaction‐based Two Competing Guilds model (HCC‐TCG) comprising 142 genomes organized into two ...

Mapping Neurodegenerative Changes in Clinically Uncertain Parkinsonian Syndrome Patients Using Fast MR Spin TomogrAphy in Time‐Domain (MR‐STAT) Relaxometry at 3T

open access: yesJournal of Magnetic Resonance Imaging, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background MR Spin TomogrAphy in Time‐domain (MR‐STAT) enables accelerated multiparametric relaxometry (T1/T2). Previous relaxometry studies predominantly compared Parkinson's disease patients with healthy controls (HC). The potential of relaxometry to distinguish neurodegenerative from non‐neurodegenerative parkinsonism in clinically ...

Multicenter experience using tofacitinib for treatment of refractory pediatric inflammatory bowel diseases in the United States

open access: yesJournal of Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition, EarlyView.
Abstract Objectives Tofacitinib is a selective Janus kinase (JAK‐1) inhibitor approved for the treatment of ulcerative colitis (UC) in adults. Data is limited in the pediatric population. The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of tofacitinib in pediatric inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).

Significant kidney impairment in pediatric inflammatory bowel disease and practice points for pediatric gastroenterologists

open access: yesJournal of Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition, EarlyView.
Abstract Objectives Children with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) have an increased risk of developing kidney disorders, which may cause significant kidney function impairment (SKI) or lead to chronic kidney disease (CKD). In this study we aimed to provide insights in causes and diagnoses of SKI cases and to provide recommendations for pediatric ...

Upper and small bowel Crohn's disease in Brazilian children: Phenotypic characteristic and surgical risk

open access: yesJournal of Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition, EarlyView.
Abstract Objectives Upper and small bowel Crohn's disease (U‐SBCD) represents a clinically aggressive phenotype with high complication rates yet remains diagnostically challenging. In low‐ and middle‐income countries (LMICs), limited inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) awareness contributes to diagnostic delays, but their impact on U‐SBCD outcomes remains

Long‐term outcomes of children with ulcerative colitis after acute severe colitis: A GETAID pédiatrique multicenter study

open access: yesJournal of Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition, EarlyView.
Abstract Objectives Acute severe colitis (ASC) is a frequent and severe complication of ulcerative colitis (UC) with a high risk of colectomy. Effects of immunosuppressants and anti–tumor necrosis factor (anti‐TNF) agents on the risk of colectomy remain debated. We wished to study the evolution of French pediatric‐onset UC patients after ASC.
