Objective: A new method in prenatal diagnostics allows to demonstrate certain numeric chromosomal aneuploidies in amniotic cells within 24 h in contrast to conventional methods which take 1–3 weeks. Materials: The experience with this rapid fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) method is compared to standard ...

Abstract: DNA samples isolated from corresponding uncultured amniotic fluid, cord blood and maternal blood (n=5) were subjected to low resolution typing of the HLA‐A, ‐B and ‐DRB loci by the polymerase chain reaction using sequence‐specific primers (PCR‐SSP).

Rapid prenatal detection of selected numerical chromosomal abnormalities by using fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) on uncultured amniotic fluid samples was described six years ago. It allows a very rapid identification of selected aneuploidies.

Fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) of chromosome-specific probes to interphase uncultured amniocytes was performed in cases in which follow-up amniocenteses were done for confirmation of previously detected mosaicism. FISH results were informative in all seven cases included in the study, and confirmed by subsequent cytogenetic analysis.

AbstractA prospective study was undertaken to evaluate the use of fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) for the detection of trisomy 21 in interphase nuclei of uncultured amniotic fluid cells. Five hundred cases were analysed in situ and classified as normal or abnormal; the results were subsequently checked against the cytogenetic findings.

Objective: Primed in situ labeling (PRINS) is an interesting alternative to the traditional fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) for the in situ detection of specific sequences in chromosome anomalies. It combines the sensitivity and specificity of the polymerase chain reaction with the specific in situ signal detection ...

To study chromosome analysis by comparative genomic hybridization (CGH) compared with the conventional technique in early amniocentesis.Cross-sectional descriptive study design was performed in 32 singleton pregnant women with gestational age between 12-15 weeks. Transabdominal amniocentesis was carried out under ultrasound guidance. The amniotic fluid
