Generation of Over-Dispersed and Under-Dispersed Binomial Variates

Journal of Computational and Graphical Statistics, 1995
Abstract This article proposes an algorithm for generating over-dispersed and under-dispersed binomial variates with specified mean and variance. The over-dispersed/under-dispersed distributions are derived from correlated binary variables with an underlying continuous multivariate distribution.

Quantum efficiency of geminate recombination under dispersive transport conditions

Journal of Non-Crystalline Solids, 1993
Abstract The Onsager model of geminate recombination is generalized to the case of dispersive hopping transport in amorphous materials. Both thermally stimulated over-barrier and tunneling jumps are taken into account as possible modes of carrier drift and diffusion in the Coulomb electric field and external electric field.

Platform competition under dispersed information [PDF]

open access: possible, 2013
We study monopolistic and competitive pricing in a two-sided market where agents have incomplete information about the quality of the product provided by each platform. The analysis is carried out within a global-game framework that offers the convenience of equilibrium uniqueness while permitting the outcome of such equilibrium to depend on the ...

PRICE-LEVEL DETERMINATION UNDER DISPERSED INFORMATION AND MONETARY POLICY*

The Japanese Economic Review, 2006
This paper considers the determination of aggregate price level under dispersed information. A Central Bank sets policy in response to its noisy measure of the price level, and each agent makes its decisions by observing a subset of data. Information revealed to the agents and the bank is determined endogenously. It is shown that the aggregate state of

Strategic Technology Adoption Under Dispersed Information and Information Learning

International Journal of Innovation and Technology Management, 2015
In this paper, we analyze the technology adoption problem of firms when relevant information about a new technology is dispersed among them. Developing a continuous time model in which imperfectly and differently informed multiple firms determine strategically when to adopt a new technology, we show that the phenomena of an economically inefficient ...

Acoustoelectric admittance of two-dimensional ferroelectric metamaterial under dispersion curve branching

Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2015
The acoustoelectric admittance Y of the ZX-cut periodically poled LiNbO3 plate is investigated experimentally and theoretically computed. The sample consists of 88 inversely poled domains of 0.45 mm-long each. The vector voltmeter, digital oscilloscope, and function generator were used to measure the frequency dependencies Y(F) at room temperature ...

Connection of the Thermical, Displacement and Strain Processes Under Dispersive Welding

International Thermal Spray Conference, 1999
Abstract Dispersion welding can be used both for repairing worn machine parts and for atomization on surfaces with novel components. Knowledge of the temperature changes during melting and the shifting process of the scattered layer are important for the exact technological design, because the expansion and stress processes can be ...

On thermally stimulated currents under dispersive transport regime — trap saturation effects

Synthetic Metals, 2000
The thermally stimulated currents (TSCs) in disordered solids are approximately calculated in the framework of the multiple trapping (MT) model. The basic simplifying assumption is the strongly non-equilibrium distribution of the majority of the trapped carriers.

Single-carrier frequency domain equalization with carrier-selection under dispersive MISO channels

2009 IEEE 13th International Symposium on Consumer Electronics, 2009
Under the multiple-input-single-output (MISO) system we propose a novel design, the carrier selection (CS) in the transmit-end, for the single carrier frequency domain equalization (SC-FDE) receiver over dispersive Nakagami-m fading channels. Simulation results reveal that our proposed scheme is much greater than that without CS and other conventional ...
