On undervoltage load shedding in power systems
This paper presents an analytical basis and criterion for undervoltage load shedding in power systems. If the voltage is unstable, the proposed undervoltage load shedding criterion can be used to calculate the amount of load which must be shed to stabilise the voltage magnitude.

Concepts of undervoltage load shedding for voltage stability [PDF]
Undervoltage load shedding is an economical solution (or partial solution) to the voltage stability challenges facing electric utilities. Simulations for an equivalent system and for large-scale representation of the Puget Sound (Seattle) area of the Pacific northwest led to several concepts for an undervoltage load-shedding program.

Techno-economic impacts of automatic undervoltage load shedding under emergency [PDF]
© 2015 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved. Different schemes for voltage control under emergency are adopted in different jurisdictions around the world. While some features, such as Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR), are common in all countries, for what concerns undervoltage load shedding (UVLS), to contrast voltage instability or collapse, different

Probabilistic undervoltage load shedding using point estimate method
Undervoltage load shedding (UVLS) is executed as a last resort to avoid voltage instability in critical situations. In this study, a robust UVLS scheme based on the point estimate method (PEM) is developed taking load uncertainties into consideration. The utilised PEM converts the continuous probability distribution functions (PDFs) of load uncertainty

Mixed integer linear formulation for undervoltage load shedding to provide voltage stability
Undervoltage load shedding (UVLS) is the last resort against voltage instability in critical situations. Here, the UVLS scheme is formulated as a mixed integer programming (MIP) model. The aim of the proposed UVLS model is to provide a predetermined value of loading margin with minimum amount of load shed.

Load shedding scheme with under‐frequency and undervoltage corrective actions to supply high priority loads in islanded microgrids [PDF]
In the last few years, microgrids have become a potential solution to improve reliability and security in the supply of electricity to power systems. When a microgrid changes its operation mode from grid‐connected to islanded, particular attention must be paid by the operation services.

An Adaptive Undervoltage Load Shedding Against Voltage Collapse Based Power Transfer Stability Index
This paper highlights the comparison of a proposed methods named adaptive undervoltage load shedding based PTSI techniques for undervoltage load shedding and two previous methods named Fixed Shed Fixed Delay (FSFD) and Variable Shed Variable Delay (VSVD) for avoiding voltage collapse. There are three main area considerations in load shedding schemes as

A purely distributed implementation of undervoltage load shedding [PDF]
A new design of load shedding against long-term voltage instability is proposed. It uses a set of distributed controllers, each monitoring a transmission voltage and controlling a group of loads. Each controller acts in closed-loop, shedding amounts that vary in magnitude and time according to the evolution of its monitored voltage.

Survey of Power System Restoration Documents Issued from 2016 to 2021
More than thirty‐six partial or whole blackouts, from 2016 to 2021, prove that neither the probability of blackouts can be ignored nor the required plans and the readiness of the utilities for power system restoration can be forgotten. To properly deal with blackouts and minimize the social and economic costs, utilities should prepare a suitable ...
