Underwater Acoustic Channels Characterization for Underwater Cognitive Acoustic Networks
2018 International Conference on Intelligent Transportation, Big Data & Smart City (ICITBS), 2018This paper focuses on characterizing underwater acoustic (UWA) channels in the view of underwater cognitive acoustic networks. In the most recent years, underwater cognitive acoustic networks have attracted much attention in pace with that “digital ocean” is developing to “smart ocean”.

Network-assisted underwater acoustic communications
Proceedings of the Seventh ACM International Conference on Underwater Networks and Systems - WUWNet '12, 2012For many underwater acoustic applications, the source and receiver systems carry a single transducer antenna. The lack of spatial diversity makes it difficult to carry out phase coherent communications. Using distributed nodes of an underwater acoustic network, this paper address phase coherent underwater acoustic communications using source diversity.

Asynchronous cooperative transmission in Underwater Acoustic Networks
2011 IEEE Symposium on Underwater Technology and Workshop on Scientific Use of Submarine Cables and Related Technologies, 2011Multi-path fading, one of the key factors that deteriorate quality of service (QOS) in Underwater Acoustic Networks (UANs), is investigated under different underwater scenarios in this paper. To improve the Bit Error Rate (BER) performance, the techniques of cooperative diversities are applied.

Optimizing Adaptive Communications in Underwater Acoustic Networks
OCEANS 2019 MTS/IEEE SEATTLE, 2019We consider an Underwater Acoustic Network (UAN) where each node is equipped with a suite of signals and so there is the flexibility to aim for different bit rates at each transmission slot. A Cross-Entropy (CE) centralized algorithm is explored to optimize the combination of modulation scheme and transmission power level in the presence of unreliable ...
