Surveillance unmanned underwater vehicle

Proceedings of OCEANS'94, 2002
A self-powered unmanned underwater vehicle (UUV) outfitted with forward looking, side scan sonar and laser imaging systems will provide a highly effective clandestine mine survey. A similarly outfitted system provided a new cost effective commercial site survey and pipeline inspection capability. >

Stevens Passive Acoustic System for underwater surveillance

2010 International WaterSide Security Conference, 2010
The Stevens Passive Acoustic System allows the detection, tracking and classification of various surface and underwater sources of sound including surface vessels, swimmers, various types of divers, and unmanned underwater vehicles. This system was developed by Stevens in its Maritime Security Laboratory, which was established to support research in ...

Remotely operated underwater vehicle with surveillance system

2015 International Conference on Advances in Electrical Engineering (ICAEE), 2015
Remotely operated underwater vehicles or ROVs are underwater robots that are used in science, entertainment, military and offshore oil industries. Their main function is to interact with the environment under the water in various ways. It is a very complicated system and uncommon in the developing or the underdeveloped countries around the world ...

Remote surveillance of underwater archaeological sites

International Journal of Nautical Archaeology, 1986
In response to the need for rapid development of active protection of sites and continuous surveillance, the author proposes an electronic security system, called arsass (acoustic remote sensing apparatus for submarine surveillance). It consists of a buoy enclosing an audio amplifier and transmitter, with rechargeable batteries and a solar panel power ...

Management of Surveillance Underwater Acoustic Networks

2016
A Surveillance Underwater Acoustic Network (SUAN) is a sensor network specialized in the detection of sea surface or subsurface physical intruders, e.g., seagoing vessels. Network management provides the ability to remotely monitor and update the state of SUAN nodes.

On communication requirements in underwater surveillance networks

OCEANS 2008 - MTS/IEEE Kobe Techno-Ocean, 2008
We envision an underwater surveillance network with autonomous sensor nodes. Each sensor node has passive acoustic and magnetic sensors, an acoustic modem, and local processing capability. We present analytical expressions and a numerical example for the communication requirements in such a system. We also consider the time correlation between messages

Multi-agent Teams for Underwater Surveillance

2010 International Conference on Emerging Security Technologies, 2010
In this paper we present a novel and relevant application for multi-agent systems which is to implement autonomy for Multistatic Sonar. Multistatic Sonar is used in Antisubmarine Warfare and exploits multiple aspects on the target generated by multiple acoustic sources and receivers.

Advanced Surveillance Technology for Underwater Security Sonar Systems

OCEANS 2007 - Europe, 2007
On the Japanese coasts, there are so many important facilities which can be exposed to the threats of terror attacks. So, we built an acoustic video system, modifying a dual-frequency acoustic camera DIDSON and developing an optimum underwater surveillance method and software.

Underwater magnetic surveillance system for port protection

2011 IEEE 2nd International Conference on Computing, Control and Industrial Engineering, 2011
To offset the weakness of acoustic surveillance system, a underwater magnetic surveillance system was designed for port protection. A three classes' bus topology structure was adopted. The system comprised scene devices, transmission cable, and console. The scene devices included several gateways and more nodes with a magnetometers array.
