On-Line Fountain Codes With Unequal Error Protection
A new encoding scheme for on-line fountain codes is proposed to provide unequal error protection (UEP) for source symbols. Both the weighted-selection strategy and the expanding-window strategy are used to achieve the UEP property.

Joint Source-Channel Coding and Unequal Error Protection for Video Plus Depth [PDF]
-We consider the joint source-channel coding (JSCC) problem of 3-D stereo video transmission in video plus depth format over noisy channels. Full resolution and downsampled depth maps are considered.

2001 IEEE Information Theory Workshop (ITW'01) [PDF]
An investigation of unequal error protection (UEP) methods applied to JPEG image transmission using turbo codes is presented. The JPEG image is partitioned into two groups, i.e., DC components and AC components according to their respective sensitivity ...

Generalized Punctured Convolutional Codes with Unequal Error Protection
We conduct a code search restricted to the recently introduced class of generalized punctured convolutional codes (GPCCs) to find good unequal error protection (UEP) convolutional codes for a prescribed minimal trellis complexity.

A new construction of nonlinear unequal error protection codes
[[abstract]]We propose a new construction of nonlinear unequal error protection (UEP) block codes whose encoding complexity is approximately equivalent to the decoding complexity of a linear block code.

On Primitive BCH Codes with Unequal Error Protection Capabilities
Presents a class of binary primitive BCH codes that have unequal-error-protection (UEP) capabilities. The authors use a previous result on the span of their minimum weight vectors to show that binary primitive BCH codes, containing second-order punctured

A novel super frame Flexible Macroblock Ordering scheme for H.265 video transmission with unequal error protection [PDF]
One of the most popular video coding standards in use today is High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC), also known as H.265. In this paper, a novel Flexible Macroblock Ordering (FMO) scheme known as Super frame FMO (SFMO) is proposed for HEVC video ...
