Rapid screening of staphylokinase protein variants using an unpurified cell‐free expression system
An unpurified cell‐free protein synthesis (CFPS) platform enables rapid functional screening of staphylokinase variants. Direct plasminogen‐activation assays performed in microplate format provide real‐time activity readouts, allowing rapid identification and ranking of variants with improved or reduced fibrinolytic activity without protein ...

5‐Aminolevulinic acid combined with ferric ammonium citrate (5‐ALA/FAC) stimulates dermal papilla cell activity and promotes hair follicle growth. The treatment enhances ERK and AKT signaling, increases hair‐inductive gene expression, and restores dermal papilla function suppressed by dihydrotestosterone and oxidative stress, resulting in enhanced hair

Why human connection is the true metric of research success
Human‐centred mentorship can be shaped by mentor attributes, actions, intrinsic drive and career ambition. Drawing on reflections across Singapore and France, as well as workshop insights from FEBS‐IUBMB ENABLE 2024, this article shows that human‐centred mentorship creates the conditions for sustainable growth, well‐being and retention in research ...

Modelling User Tasks with the Unified Modelling Language
This paper discusses the extension of the Unified Modelling Language (UML) for modelling tasks and user groups. The term task is used widely, to include collaborative and multi-user tasks and without reference to some specific theory of user task lfuowledge or behaviour.

Pharmacological inhibition of PERK in a DEN‐induced mouse model of liver cancer does not reduce tumor burden but alters cellular stress signaling. Despite blocking PERK activity, downstream stress responses, including CHOP expression, remain active, suggesting compensatory mechanisms within the unfolded protein response that may influence tumor ...

Visual Modeling Language for Agent Treasury Pharmaceutical
The researches to discover useful ways to represent the agents and agent-based systems are continuous. Unified Modeling Language (UML) is a visual modeling language used for software and non software modeling systems.

Abruptly changing from aerobic to anaerobic conditions (sudden anaerobization) induced growth inhibition and a significant increase in intracellular labile ferrous iron in the aerotolerant anaerobe Amphibacillus xylanus. We found that free flavins mediate efficient electron transfer from NADH to ferric iron under anaerobic conditions, suggesting that ...

The Unified Modeling Language [PDF]
A subset of the UML is presented which has been found useful for notating what may loosely be called specification models. A model of aspects of the ODP trader case study is developed (a) to provide a vehicle for introducing the notation, and (b) to demonstrate how the notations can be used together in harmony.
