Designing Ductile 2‐GPa Yielding Titanium Alloys via Multifunctional Subgrain Boundaries and Nanoprecipitates

open access: yesAdvanced Science
Ductile titanium alloys yielding at 2 GPa are rarely achieved via strengthening of hexagonal close‐packed α‐nanoprecipitates, which suffer from the planar glide softening to cause strain localization for insufficient work hardening capability.

Unique circulating miRNAome signatures captured with distinct molecular states in Lynch syndrome and sporadic colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Circulating microRNA profiles distinguish nonmalignant Lynch syndrome from cancer‐associated Lynch syndrome, sporadic colorectal cancer, and healthy controls. Age‐stratified analysis reveals disease‐specific regulatory states, and a six‐miRNA panel shows concordant separation in an independent colorectal tissue cohort.

The impact of leukocyte‐associated RNA retention on platelet RNA‐based cancer detection

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Platelets carry RNA signals that may help detect cancer, but platelet samples can also retain RNA from white blood cells. We found that this retained white blood cell signal did not significantly affect machine learning cancer classification, suggesting that the cancer‐related RNA signal in platelets is largely independent of leukocyte‐associated RNA ...

THE INTERACTIONS BETWEEN TWO-SEGMENT STRIKING MOTION GENERATED BY PROXIMAL SEGMENT OF UPPER ARM [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
The purpose of this study was to examine the kinetical interactions between two segments of the upper arm using the forward dynamics derived from Lagrange’s equation of motion, and then clarify the proximal-distal sequence.

Frequency-angle decoupling design for grid-etched piezoelectric MEMS cantilevers and its application to quasi-static micromirrors

open access: yesMicrosystems & Nanoengineering
Micro-electro-mechanical systems (MEMS) cantilever actuators are pivotal in applications ranging from micro-optics to precision manipulation. However, their performance is fundamentally constrained by a trade-off between dynamic response and static ...

Directed evolution of enzymes at the crossroads of tradition and innovation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
An iterative cycle of data‐driven enzyme optimization comprising four stages: genetic diversification of a template enzyme, expression of protein variants, high‐throughput evaluation, and machine‐learning‐guided redesign of the next variant library.

Self‐Regulated Learning Meets AI: Reinterpreting Self‐Regulation, Co‐Regulation, and Socially Shared Regulation in Human–AI Interaction

open access: yesNew Directions for Adult and Continuing Education, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Advancing artificial intelligence (AI) has transformed learning and work, yet higher education and professional development programs have not systematically equipped learners for AI‐prevalent environments. This lack of preparation creates uncertainty regarding control, responsibility, trust, and accountability.

Comparing the Effect of Semi‐Immersive Virtual Reality, Computerized Cognitive Training, and Traditional Rehabilitation on Cognitive Function in Multiple Sclerosis: A Randomized Clinical Trial

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Cognitive impairment is a common non‐motor symptom in Multiple Sclerosis (MS), negatively affecting autonomy and Quality of Life (QoL). Innovative rehabilitation strategies, such as semi‐immersive virtual reality (VR) and computerized cognitive training (CCT), may offer advantages over traditional cognitive rehabilitation (TCR ...

Numerical simulation of flow past a cylinder in orbital motion [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
A finite difference solution is presented for 2D laminar unsteady flow around a circular cylinder in orbital motion placed in a uniform flow for Re = 130, 160, and 180. Four cases displaying full lock-in are presented.
