Impact of Asymptomatic Intracranial Hemorrhage on Outcome After Endovascular Stroke Treatment

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Endovascular treatment (EVT) achieves high rates of recanalization in acute large‐vessel occlusion (LVO) stroke, but functional recovery remains heterogeneous. While symptomatic intracranial hemorrhage (sICH) has been well studied, the prognostic impact of asymptomatic intracranial hemorrhage (aICH) after EVT is less certain ...

Uniform and non-uniform random generation of RNA secondary structures with pseudoknots

open access: yes, 2010
We give an efficient algorithm to generate random RNA secondary structures with pseudoknots, either uniformly or non uniformly in a controllable fashion. Although we consider a restrictive class of pseudoknots, the class of {\em simple recursive pseudoknots}, it turns out that most of the known real RNA pseudoknotted secondary structures in the ...

PorousGen: An Efficient Algorithm for Generating Porous Structures with Accurate Porosity and Uniform Density Distribution

open access: yes
This work presents a novel algorithm for generating porous structures as an alternative to the PoreSpy program suite. Unlike PoreSpy, which often produces structures whose porosity deviates from the target value, our proposed algorithm generates structures whose porosity closely matches the specified input, within a defined error margin.

A Unified Framework for Generalizing the Gromov-Hausdorff Metric

open access: yes, 2019
In this paper, a general approach is presented for generalizing the Gromov-Hausdorff metric to consider metric spaces equipped with some additional structure. A special case is the Gromov-Hausdorff-Prokhorov metric which considers measured metric spaces.

Hyperuniformity and its Generalizations

open access: yes, 2016
Disordered many-particle hyperuniform systems are exotic amorphous states characterized by anomalous suppression of large-scale density fluctuations. Here we substantially broaden the hyperuniformity concept along four different directions. This includes

Value of MRI Outcomes for Preventive and Early‐Stage Trials in Spinocerebellar Ataxias 1 and 3

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To examine the value of MRI outcomes as endpoints for preventive and early‐stage trials of two polyglutamine spinocerebellar ataxias (SCAs). Methods A cohort of 100 participants (23 SCA1, 63 SCA3, median Scale for the Assessment and Rating of Ataxia (SARA) score = 5, 42% preataxic, and 14 gene‐negative controls) was scanned at 3T up ...

Ketogenic Diet as an Epigenetic Therapy in SETD1B‐Related Epilepsy

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Histone lysine methyltransferases such as SETD1B regulate chromatin structure and gene transcription. Ketone bodies, including butyrate, act as histone deacetylase inhibitors. We report a 4‐year‐old boy with SETD1B‐related absence epilepsy, refractory to conventional medications, who achieved sustained > 90% seizure reduction on the Modified ...

Idempotents and structures of rings

open access: yes, 2016
We study a ring containing a complete set of orthogonal idempotents as a generalized matrix ring via its Peirce decomposition. We focus on the case where some of the underlying bimodule homomorphisms are zero.

High‐Resolution MRI Revealed Different Etiology‐Specific Associations With Cerebral Infarction in Adult Moyamoya Vasculopathy

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective High‐resolution MRI enables detailed assessment of intracranial vessel wall pathology in moyamoya vasculopathy. We aimed to classify adult moyamoya vasculopathy etiologies using high‐resolution MRI and to examine subtype‐specific associations between high‐resolution MRI features and ischemic infarction.
