Automated FRAP microscopy for high‐throughput analysis of protein dynamics in chromatin organization and transcription

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
RoboMic is an automated confocal microscopy pipeline for high‐throughput functional imaging in living cells. Demonstrated with fluorescence recovery after photobleaching (FRAP), it integrates AI‐driven nuclear segmentation, ROI selection, bleaching, and analysis.

Uniqueness of best Chebyshev approximations in spline subspaces

open access: yesJournal of Approximation Theory, 1985
This paper deals with the problem of uniqueness of best Chebyshev approximations by subspaces of spline functions on compact subsets T of \({\mathbb{R}}\). Necessary and sufficient conditions ensuring uniqueness of best approximations are given and a characterization of strongly unique best approximations using best approximations on finite subsets of ...

A Quantile Variant of the EM Algorithm and Its Applications to Parameter Estimation with Interval Data

open access: yes, 2018
The expectation-maximization (EM) algorithm is a powerful computational technique for finding the maximum likelihood estimates for parametric models when the data are not fully observed.

A light‐triggered Time‐Resolved X‐ray Solution Scattering (TR‐XSS) workflow with application to protein conformational dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering captures how proteins change shape in real time under near‐native conditions. This article presents a practical workflow for light‐triggered TR‐XSS experiments, from data collection to structural refinement. Using a calcium‐transporting membrane protein as an example, the approach can be broadly applied to study ...

Analysing the significance of small conformational changes and low occupancy states in serial crystallographic data

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.

A Bellman approach for two-domains optimal control problems in $\R^N$ [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
This article is the starting point of a series of works whose aim is the study of deterministic control problems where the dynamic and the running cost can be completely different in two (or more) complementary domains of the space $\R^N$.

Predicting Epileptogenic Tubers in Patients With Tuberous Sclerosis Complex Using a Fusion Model Integrating Lesion Network Mapping and Machine Learning

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Accurate localization of epileptogenic tubers (ETs) in patients with tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC) is essential but challenging, as these tubers lack distinct pathological or genetic markers to differentiate them from other cortical tubers.

Uniqueness and strong uniqueness of best approximations by spline subspaces and other subspaces

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Analysis and Applications, 1982
AbstractA complete characterization is given of those functions in C¦a, b¦ which have a unique best approximation from the subspace of spline functions of degree n with k fixed knots. Also, the relationship between unique and strongly unique best approximations from arbitrary finitedimensional subspaces of C0(T) is investigated.

Asymptotic Uniqueness of Best Rational Approximants to Complex Cauchy Transforms in ${L}^2$ of the Circle

open access: yes, 2008
For all n large enough, we show uniqueness of a critical point in best rational approximation of degree n, in the L^2-sense on the unit circle, to functions f, where f is a sum of a Cauchy transform of a complex measure \mu supported on a real interval ...

Patterns of Postictal Abnormalities in Relation to Status Epilepticus in Adults

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Abnormalities on peri‐ictal diffusion‐weighted magnetic resonance imaging (DWI‐PMAs) are well‐established for patients with status epilepticus (SE), but knowledge on patterns of DWI‐PMAs and their prognostic impact is sparse. Methods This systematic review and individual participant data meta‐analysis included observational studies ...
